I have no intention of getting a Switch 2...

UNTIL

a Zelda game comes out thats ONLY compatible on Switch 2.

The upgrade from 1 to 2 looks minimal/meh, so it makes zero sense for me.

Japanophile who moved to Italy eh?
Helllllooooo BFF.
hahaha

Where in Italy?
I’m still deciding if the upgrade was worth it, but as a traditional console gamer I like having the option to juggle between handheld and playing on my TV, so we’ll see … Obviously they did the scaled-up versions of the Zelda games for launch, but you know they’ve got something exclusive coming, so you’ll have to concede at some point.

I moved to Sicily a few months ago, and I go to Japan each year for a couple of weeks or so to get my fix - haha. I’ve also dabbled in learning a bit of the languages for both (Japanese for my interests and Italian out of necessity) but I do find dual-fisting languages to be a bit hard to handle. 🤭

As for ppl talking (taking over) on my thread about whatever...be my guest with one or two small caveats...

I'd PREFER ppl not post every 5 secs, 10x in a row with no responses (hmmm, wonder whom I am talking about)...or just having overall threadjacking/complete take-overs in my thread that go on for PAGES.
But hey...if you come up with a random question or joke or whatever and 25 ppl respond or whatever, then fan-fucking-tastic...have at it.

Ah I havent really spent much time in Sicily to be fair.
Do you like it? Why there? Speak Italian? Gonna be HOT AF soon btw.

Yes, trying to learn Japanese can be difficult with multiple alphabets, words hav ing multiple meanings and not being a romance language and such. I am far from an expert. I am pretty close to fluent in Italian, just some words or phrases or whatever are beyond what I learned (I was there for about 5-6 yrs when I was age 2-8 basically). My Japanese is much worse but I can get by, but cant really read most anything...just speak/understand.

I tried to learn a bit Italian during long travels in my car, but doesn't got far. I like the melody of the language, that's why. So I need to stick to English and a bit French. If someone like talking German, that's obvious possible as well.

Yes, I can speak a little French as well (been working on that for a long time) but it doesn’t help all that much with Italian for me. Maybe for reading and writing (to an extent?) but not for speaking or comprehending what others say … it sounds entirely different. I don’t want to be the typical white person, but languages are hard - haha.

I know about 200 German words give or take
I tried some French before on duolingo but those fucking apps always start off well and then they start with "The little boy rides the dolphin" or some inane shit that you would never say

You need the travellers version. How to ask for directions, order food, objects in a room, common verbs, pronouns, the please and thank you stuff...not fucking "the giraffe looks pretty in the sun". cuz WTF

I had a multilingual travel translator. Containing only pictures. The Name of the book was "Point it!"

Yeah, Duolingo is BAD for that!

I use it to brush up on things, but it pains me when I’m revisiting French and they want to teach me “The monkey is in the tree.”

I mean, WTAF? For a start, monkeys aren’t even native to France, so we’re starting with some super-random stuff here, and it seems to come way before some of that day to day stuff you actually need to know. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I guess they use the same pattern for all languages.
