In case anyone was wondering I woke up early, walked to my mum’s and stole her dog for a bit (emotional support), walked to meet my sister… cracked out 15k steps by 9.30am. Weekend Watchlist + A Little Tease for You…

Let’s start with the disappointing part of my weekend before I inevitably turn this whole thing horny…. Last night I went to see Ballerina, directed by Len Wiseman and set within the John Wick universe. It had every opportunity to shine.
Ana de Armas takes the lead as Eve, a trained ballerina-turned-assassin seeking revenge for her father’s murder. But, despite her range and on-screen magnetism (Blonde, Knives Out, No Time to Die, she’s brilliant in all of them), is given next to no lines. Keanu Reeves reprising his role as Wick, was the reason I wanted to see it, but it seemed he only had a little 30 min feature. It really does deserve the 77% rotten tomatoes reviews. ( I’m such a movie “rating” whore that I review EVERY new movie. ) so to cleanse our palettes we decided to stay late at the cinema and watch Dangerous Animals (new shark horror), that honestly had no business being as good as it was. (The Shallows, disappointed me, also better then 47 meters down). What starts off as a sun-drenched boat trip ( yes, typical) quickly spirals into claustrophobic, nerve-wracking terror.

The acting is surprisingly tight. The lead, played by Odessa A’zion, brings just enough grit to keep you invested without tipping into melodrama. The pacing is taut, and the water scenes are genuinely stressful , though I’ll admit, I have a very irrational fear of sharks. (So yes, I was jumping and turning my face from the screen . More than once. You’re welcome for that mental image.)

Since I didn’t post your surprise last night, I figured you boys could use a little something to get your blood moving today. oh, what was that? You’re not interested?… ahhh well okay then…. So I guess you won’t want to know where I’m headed tonight?… just a hotel with my girl… takeaway, wines, music on, and far too much weed, lounging around in oversized t shirts and thongs….

There’s something shiny hidden in these pics… think you can guess where?

oh and yes, the shiny thing is inside me!
