It has two sex scenes, the first in a kitchen, and the second on a clifftop bench, overlooking the sea. In neither case though, do they strip off naked... always there are elements of clothing, the second outdoor scene having the two protagonists going for it almost fully clothed. So here's the question... this is the Nude Day contest and I have no nudity in the story. The tenuous link is the outdoor sex scene and the suggestion that they may have been watched. Do you think that's enough, or am I not engaging with the theme?

No, you’ll be crucified (nude). If it’s a good story and you don’t want to change it, just submit it as a regular story and start again for the contest.

I think we would need way more information to answer that question.
Is it still in the idea stage? Absolutely change it.
Have you put lots of time and effort in already? Just edit it and move on.
Or, and hear me out, do both. Edit and finish the present I/T story and then edit it into an EC. Then compare your scores…

I’d be curious how it reads with only a word replacement. lol.

o, my question is about 'stand alone story'.

How strict is that?

My concept uses characters and a basic set-up from other stories, but is not a chapter

It's perfect. I generally submit stories from a 'universe' that I create. If you have a proper introduction and exposition and a fitting conclusion, you have a stand alone story. The reader love a sense of stability and with a good universe they get a sense of belonging, and that rakes in the votes. If you write something they like, they will always want more.

Fair point. I did read through and wasn't sure on the exhibitionism angle. Let me consider if I can get a semblance of nudity into the storyline without detracting from the original idea. If not, then I guess I'll just publish as a regular story.

I’m really looking forward to this contest. Nude Day was what got me into Literotica, but it’s seemed like a harder contest to approach the narrative and have a blend of ‘healthy’ nudism and hot sex.

In any case, I’m getting some really helpful beta reader feedback and very happy with where things are landing.

Arrgh! I fired up my laptop and opened my story to polish it up and half the story (or more) was gone! I'm hoping a copy was retained on the PC at home. It's far too cool of a story to disappear.

Thank you, I feel a big attachment to this story, it's my first "romantasy" in years and my very first attempt at Nude Day. I got the main bits still floating around in my head if all else fails.

If it’s in Word or similar, check for an edit history function. Fingers crossed for you!

Got it back! I was able to roll back the document history about two saves and recovered what was lost during a corrupt network transfer. I need to remember to use VPN, I don't have those problems when I have the VPN running.

I am not a tinkerer. I finished mine several weeks ago, sat on it happily, and submitted yesterday. It's out of my mind; what's in my mind? The Holiday story I just finished and the Halloween story for which I'm seeking plot bunnies.
