I go to a site. I highlight a cartoon -- one with no sexual content, and not a large file size, I'm sure. I C&P it in the Reply box. It is visible. But when I hit "Post Reply," it disappears -- only the link is visible. How do I fix that?

You don't c&p into the reply box. You click on the icon just next to the icon, and load it there.

You are trying to embed the picture from that cdn/site hosting it, lit has made that its no-no square, you can however still post images, so copy the image instead of the image link and post it, it should work

None of the admins share that type of info with mods! Mods are just members who have been entrusted to enforce rules/TOS and help other members.

I'll take things that never happened regarding "my mod friend heard from the admins" for $2,000.

I’m also going to go with this not being accurate. If someone told you they have inside information from the mods, they are exaggerating or lying. As a few of us have said in this thread, we have the same information as all members. We saw the same announcement as everyone else.

A little over two months since the notice, we have not received any further information or instructions at all. We do not know what is allowed or what is not. Literally thousands of posts and threads and been edited or removed by Admin without any known or detectable pattern.

What we're left with is a mess of hundreds of pages of links that cannot be effectively moderated without clicking each link and putting our devices at risk, something I will not do.

Previous requests and discussion with Admin centered around removing all picture threads, links or not and focusing on text only posts.

Within the next few days and absent any specific written instruction with this thread to the contrary, I will begin deleting ALL picture threads on F&S since we do not know the content of the links or whether or not permission has been obtained to use/repost it.

He is announcing unilaterally that he is deleting a whole swathe of threads, not because they break any rules, but because he doesn't want to click the links.

I'm not saying he should have to, and if that's the announcement that the official position is no picture threads, then we'll have to come round to that.

None of us have said that because it isn’t true. A member said we couldn’t delete/remove threads. I think that was in this thread somewhere, and a few of us commented that this isn’t true.

I can't be bothered to read 24 pages to see if this has been mentioned, but I feel pretty confident guessing that Lit's policy of visual art (drawn and photography both) stems from upcoming age verification mandates. If Lit does not allow visual art, it avoids those statutes and can continue to operate largely as it has for 25 years.

If you want to fix this, vote more progressively in 2028.
