The Third World Is Forever Chasing the White Man

(Alt-Market)—This week I was researching the history of the modern African economy as well as the financial effects of “colonialism”, largely in an effort to discern if Africa is actually better off with or without western influence. One can of course argue that racial divisions like Apartheid in South Africa or segregation in Rhodesia have their own oppressive social effects beyond the financial. There’s also the argument that only “white colonists” ever benefited from the infrastructure they built (which is actually untrue, wherever white colonists were established, everything from water access to roads to medical care improved for everyone). However, I think it’s fair to ask if these nations were experiencing growth and prosperity under white governance, or if things were relatively the same. We’re not supposed to talk about it – We’re only supposed to say “colonialism bad”. I don’t care about that, I just want to know what the realities are.

What he means is, African culture, some elements of black culture, the third world in general, all of them are constantly trying to co-opt what white western culture builds. He argues that wherever the white population in Africa shrinks or migrates away, the country “becomes a shithole”. So, Africans chase white people.

When white people in Africa relocate to Australia, or Canada, or the US or Europe, the Africans try to follow. Instead of building up their own communities and nations they use and then eventually tear down the infrastructure that whites already built. They never replace it with anything else. Then they immigrate overseas to where the white people are because their own nations are in disarray. Eventually, they start tearing down those countries.

Leftists will call this a “racist” argument rooted in “white supremacy”, but this is a black South African making the point. It’s not racist, it’s just an observation of concrete fact. When Rhodesia became Zimbabwe and the whites were ethnically cleansed, the country collapsed and the black people starved to death.

A South African Black man speak out.
I have my own spin and that is that the new black leaders of the former Africa colonies were trying to emulate what they thought the white colonialists were doing, ie stealing from the people and theft and graft are a lot easier than building things. And if you look around you see that the leaders of those nations are busy inflating their own bank accounts as quickly as possible. Kenya may end up being a bright spot in the sub-Saharan region.

Historically, the Africans built a lot of it.

The problem with post-colonial Africa is the difficulty of building modern nation-states out of societies where most people's first loyalty is still to family, clan and tribe. Historical circumstances have forced them to skip over the very long process by which national consciousness developed in the local cultures of Europe.

Also, few African countries are suited to become nation-states, because they still have the borders colonial powers drew up for their own diplomatic reasons without regard to nationality.

A friend of mine from the past who is now himself passed away was a member of the Igbo tribe in Nigeria.

We worked together at one point and he explained to me that part of the problem for many (not all) Africans is that they truly believe that white people succeed at industry and agriculture not through hard work and education but through magic.

Thus the success a farmer in SA may have came from some sort of magic. The result is when the white owned farm is expropriated and the black folks pillage it and burn the tractors and carry off the irrigation systems for scrap they do not connect those bits of infrastructure with the success of the farm.

And the farm fails in their eyes not because they destroyed it but because the white people withdrew their 'magic' from the farm.

A few mainstream journalists dare to delve into these aspects of African culture:

One of the most significant ways belief in witchcraft hinders development is by discouraging entrepreneurship and wealth creation. In many African societies, individuals fear that economic success will bring trouble, as those who accumulate wealth are often accused of using witchcraft to prosper at the expense of their peers. Unsurprisingly, this fosters an environment where capable individuals deliberately eschew success —so as to evade accusations of sorcery.

You mean the people who feed you? You should stand on your principles here and boycott every single thing provided to you in whole or in part by these people.
