Has anyone else drawn the ire of story critic Stacnash? 🤣

And what qualifies you to judge this thread?
Why should we believe your opinion, I mean, you're one person, right?
Where are all your threads so we can see your amazing skills?
What are you going to do, make a list of threads people should or shouldn't read?

Damn troll. :D
I think maybe @Djmac1031 was making an attempt at humor?

You didn’t. I’ve had enough of this thread. I’ve said everything I wanted and more. It has run its course and so have I.
This was at the bottom of page 13 of this thread. On page 14 there are 5 or 6 posts by you. On page 15 there's one. Not sure what this reveals... but it's interesting.

How do people other than the banned person know about the banning? Is it published somewhere?
Sometimes the tag line (where yours says lit guru) will turn to guest and there is no info under joined, posts location. I can't recall for sure if they were permanent banned or just got a time out (usually two weeks you can't post) and never came back.

"find" is not really what I meant, if you mean connecting with individuals here;
No, not connecting with individuals. I'm not into that. Just knowing that my story, both content and style, resonated with someone.
means I've stumbled on someone with the same taste I have.
Yup. Same erotic and stylistic tastes. The "connection" need go no further.

No, there's no list of banned people. But when someone is prolific but contentious, then suddenly disappears in the middle of a thread that was very much going on around them and instigated by them, one can draw a reasonable conclusion that the site silenced them. It's patterns of behaviour and speculation, sure, but one can draw reasonable conclusions from what's in front of you..

They might have taken their bat and ball and gone home (like some do, with dramatic departures) but given the context running at the time I doubt that, as evidenced by the return, Story Side, with the Lists. Which happened some time later, IIRC.

EDIT: writing my response to Melissa's post just then, I remembered something from the "first time" thread, when Stacnash was running here in the AH.

When the thread finished, I recall someone else from whatever coterie she was part of, came in and posted a final statement on her behalf, acknowledging that she had been banned. It was a summing up, in a way, of what went on. I remember it now, because the post mentioned Ruby in particular, how my character would resonate with her for a long while. The post mentioned a few other memorable characters from other writers, too, but it was the mention of Ruby that stuck in my brain.

If I had better forum search skills, I'd go find that swan song post. Maybe @Bramblethorn could find it.

If you know so much more than I do, please explain to me why she picked certain stories by particular artists, because I’ve seen no such explanation from anyone. And that was, after all, the issue I was addressing.
That was the thing that made me curious, too. Why would you review the second part of a two part set, not the first? I asked her that, in a short exchange of PMs, but never got an answer. There's no evidence in the review that she'd read the first part, the review was absolutely self-contained to that one submission.

Maybe it was because I cited a comment left against the second part (the one she reviewed) here in the AH which caught her attention, maybe it was because she liked anal more than fetish as a category, who knows? Zero clues given in the review. It seemed rather arbitrary, because the story wasn't what I would call "typical" of my writing - but it was more recent at the time, so maybe "topical".

Curious, is what the whole episode was, and still is. When a thread becomes more about the reviewer's motives, less about the reviews, it sort of proves the point that we all crave reviews. But we don't always get what we asked for.

I think I do remember that, though every time there's a stacnash thread, it bumps up in my memory against that other thread that one time, about that weird little collective that liked to drift around like the Borg and drop their pearls of wisdom on peoples' stories. I'm not sure whether I'm making that up, but I think I recall it?

I think perhaps it has more to do with the modus operandi of the reviewer in question.
Commentariat is another in depth reviewer and the same issue doesn't come up with him. Of course, he doesn't claim to rate you as a writer based on a single work either.

I don't recall a group of reviewers here on Lit, but I do remember Stacnash saying she was part of a group reviewing content on different sites, so maybe the xx/100 ranking was a common methodology.

The final post openly declared who the spokesperson was - they might even have joined Lit that same day as a new member, specify to leave that post. Must be two even three years ago now.

I think I'm remembering the same thing; I always associate stacnash with that group. I'm not sure if I'm right to do so, but I do.

So weird.

The 'group' may also be one person with multiple alts. We've seen that before back in the Scouries/Freddy days.

Fun fact, when Stacnash was banned I know one person for sure who reported them, mostly because they thought they were Tilan. Maybe others did as well, but one person here is the hall monitor type and famous for reporting posts and people.

For some reason Tilan accused me of reporting them and I received several abusive comments right after that, all anon but in multiples of two and three, but all sounding the same. A bunch of these vanished and since I didn't delete them maybe the site did, I don't think an anon person can remove their own. One of those comments was under the Stacnash name and trashing the story they insisted violated TOS.

They definitely repped in a pack back then, question is was it a pack of one, or is there a group?

The fact we haven't had any evidence of these other reviewers makes me think we just have a hydra here.

Okay. That's why I'm remembering things as I am.

Perfect. I remember, at the time, thinking the group was an actual group instead of alts, marveling at the idea that they'd care enough to rove the internet leaving these reviews, and thinking that was a fucking bizarre way to pass the time.

I don't have time to hunt for it now, but that sounds vaguely familiar. It was around mid-August 2023 if anybody wants to go looking.

No, that's perfectly normal behavior. Us commenting on it is crazy
Or so I've heard.

Me and her on the same day, you dumb fuck.

funny, I seem to recall a recent comment in this very thread about unwarranted insults being hurled, but I can't recall who... oh wait, yes I can recall who:

Yeah, obviously it’s much easier to talk about the devil than actually face him. Hurling insults and complaints without letting the other side respond.

Yes bunky, you claimed I reported you and were quite nasty about it. Now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure I told you who did do it.
FWIW I don't think you left the comments, that was your buddy. I don't think you're the same person

We were banned on 6/15/23
That one showed up a weak later
It was August 2023.

As to the rest, this is the post where everything started, so knock yourselves out if you want to form an opinion of your own. There are follow-up threads, but this one should keep you amused for a while.

By the way, there were Tilan's (Plathfan's) post in that thread as well, doing what he does best, but they were clearly nuked along with his (original and first of many) account.
