Not well. It makes me anxious.05.26.25
With all the recent online changes, let’s talk change in general -
How do you handle change?
I think about its approach often before the approach even approaches.Do you think about its approach or does it often seem to sneak up on you?
Very much. I like the known.Do you mourn the loss of the comfortable?
It depends on what the change is. If it’s truly a negative change in my life, I find it very hard to see silver linings.Do you find silver linings in the new? Does it take a transition period?
If it’s a more neutral change, there is a transition but I’m usually able to pull something positive out of it. Or at least make adjustments to a new normal.
It depends how concrete the changes are. If I know for sure something is going to change and how it will change, it’s easier for me to stay present. But if the change involves a lot of unknowns, I’m likely to dwell in that anxious space often. Are you able to stay present easily when changes are on the horizon?
My new glassesCan you think of changes that you fretted over that ended up for the best?

Most things. But I’ll go with a lighthearted one… my phone operating system and apps. I don’t want to update. Except for the few bugs that I want fixed. Stop changing the interface and moving my functions and taking away buttons and changing the colors and the app icon. All of it.What about things that you wish would stay the same forever?
I don’t update shit until my phone forces me to which is a bad habit but I truly hate the change.
Going back to work. If/when/how/to what.Is there a big change that is impending that you think about often?
When I left my career to stay home with my kids, I was very burnt out. I’m not sure if I can go back to doing the same work. I’m not sure if I’m marketable to do anything else. And then there’s all the logistics of figuring out two parents working and who will be able to take days off when they are out of school and all that jazz. I still have like 3 more years, but I think about it more than I should.
I want to move.A change you wish you could make now?
That’s also a big source of stress and something I think about a lot.
Did I mention I don’t like change?
