Yes. The ability to move around here with ease is what I like. I’m a creature of habit. In fact, on the PG, I have a handful of people on ignore and it improved my experience greatly. And they’re not annoying people on ignore. Just people who start a lot of word threads and others in which I have no interest. That eliminated probably 50% of the stuff I don’t like on the first page, which makes it way better. Nothing against those users, we just don’t interact and I don’t use their threads.

If I had the annoyings on ignore then what would I have to bitch about?

I have a handful of people blocked and it does quiet things down .

I also muted channels that I don’t care to see updates on. I keep everything collapsed. And then the ones that I do look at are the only ones that show up and only when they have a new post. It makes it more manageable.

It’s still not really my thing, but it’s more manageable.

Is there some kind of internet Adderall we can give these undiagnosed people? Or can we take away their cell phones? They post like Meth Head Mollies.

I think maybe some tweaking will make it useable. Like I said, Kitty was very kind to make this happen and it has potential. It also has a lot of annoying people, so we need to balance that. Thirsty posts rise exponentially in real time, as well.

I love that there’s an alternative and think it will get better as I learn that platform, but right now it’s just so…. noisy. I find it interesting how people can be so different in one on one chats. Even some annoying people are great in private. And it’s all really about preference. I prefer more in depth posts than constant one liners.

And the one liners - that’s what I don’t like as much. It’s why I’m better at email still than texting people, unless there’s a specific reason I’m texting.

It’s possible but I think less likely. It’s really oriented toward chat room style vs in depth discussions. I’m not a frequenter of the lit chat rooms but I imagine not much in depth discussion happens there.
Unless the forums disappear, I think they’ll still be a better place for that.

When I first joined Lit I was advised not to go to the chat rooms and I never have. I never really venture out of The Playground.

Kitty is setting up sections of the server for more deep discussion so I am hopeful that they will start to come. I don’t participate in them that much but I do like reading other people’s thoughts and opinions on topics. It gives me an insight into people and also to what is going on in the world outside of my own bubble.

I also think the energy that new posters bring to the boards is fun!
