The right had no real reason to believe he was unwell. They just latched onto his age and the fact that he had always been a slow speaker (because he has a stutter) because other things - like bashing his wife for using a title she earned fair and square - didn't work.
And this gets back to "sharp as a tack" (which, fine, BrightShinyGirl really said). There is a difference between saying he's not senile (he's not) and saying he hasn't aged at all (he has). You always interpret the former as the latter.

No, credit where it's due. He accused Bright Shiny Girl of saying Biden was "sharp as a tack," and due to his long history of putting words in his opponents' mouths (including that exact phrase), I said she probably had not said that. In fact she did. A broken clock is right twice a day.
Of course, his cancer has nothing to do with his mental health and there is still no legitimate evidence that Biden was not in fact sharp as a tack while he was president.
