Feedback on new policy announcement.

So, we can't upload nudity or illustrated sex to the Lit server. Did she say anything about whether links to images hosted offsite were okay?

Not sure about the rest, I only inquired about Illustrated stories.

A few weeks ago, the Nude Comics section was updated with new pictures.

What?

"A few weeks ago"?
The most recent Comics that I see are from April 14, 2025.

That is the same date. that the Erotic Art was last updated. BOTH came to an abrupt halt.

Yes, that's a few weeks ago.

I referenced that in comparison to the Illustrated Stories section which hadn't had a story posted since months ago.

That is nearly a MONTH ago. and they HAD been updated nearly daily prior to that.
Illustrated stories have always taken longer to post.

In reality — there is currently a stand still with regard to illustrations, of any kind, anywhere ("up front")

The bulletin board/forums are another issue.

The owners have decided this is the direction they want to take. Do you not understand it has been talked about, pondered, etc etc before they came to this decision?

Did everyone just skip over this part?

"Over time, we've also become more and more aware of Literotica's unique identity as a community dedicated to storytelling via fantasies shared through writing and reading."
I understand that this is the direction they want to take. I am not attempting to argue with them. I am merely asking for information on how it will be implemented. Will any images be allowed? How are they defining nudity? Is a photo in a g-string okay? Are breasts okay if the nipples are covered? I don’t think these are unreasonable questions.

Well, at least I don't have to read through 10 pages or so since I was last here to find out the answer to this question. This really needs to be clarified.
The owners have decided this is the direction they want to take.

This is the only thing that matters. I suspect that there are lots of unspoken reasons, but they are secondary and not all that important.

Little clarity would go a long way.

I'm gonna go scrape some pics off the internet for next Curvesday.

Laurel gave me a response.

It's going to be the same rules as Instagram

No nudity or illustrated sex. That's the tentative plan. Applies to photographs and illustrations.

I only inquired about the Illustrated Stories section. I don't know if that applies to the forums.

If you’re willing, would you please ask about AmPics and the Visual Artists Board in general?

You’re the only one I know of who got any response. I sent a civil inquiry, no answer.

Right now, I can only assume the plan is to not answer visual content creators, not post their submitted works, and hope we’ll just go away.

I’m still able to link my photos (of myself) in AmPics. Only had one taken down for reasons I can’t fathom while later ones stayed up.

Nothing is clear. I don’t know if the rules will exempt AmPics, if text links to my own content will be ok but auto display photo links to my own content won’t, if links to nudity will be entirely banned, if AmPics will be taken down entirely or not.

Is it that much trouble for them to make these things clear?

Someone previously quoted a forum moderator saying there's no change in rules.

I think the forum is going to stay the same. Just my assessment of things.

I have to assume that you’re talking about me being quoted. I said there have not yet been any changes (in response to people complaining about how the changes had already been implemented, which they have/had not). The announcement very clearly says the forums will be included.

Just thinking about how we live here in the USA...Kids can go see a film where people use machine guns and explosives on each other, but are not allowed in a theatre to see a film with an exposed nipple... I recall the James Bond films, mayhem, death, and destruction, but no bare breasts.

So I guess the new policy is that photos can’t be embedded and just show up as links? Yeah, that’s tedious. Don’t think I’ll bother. I actually find most of modern porn unsexy. A sophisticated woman dressed well is a lot more interesting to me than most tatt’ed up porn chicks.

On the other hand, this new policy seems silly. Are we pretending this isn’t a porn site? I don’t know that anyone will buy that. And, at the moment, I’m not aware of any national laws that make this necessary. So… interestingly, I used this site for years before realizing there even was a forum. But I’m nowhere as interested in stories as I was back then.

All that said, it’s not my site and I don’t pay the hosting bill, so I do ‘t get a say. I do think the owners are very much overestimating the appeal of this site sans photos. I think even if I felt like clicking a bunch of links to see if the photo even loads, the hypcrocity of a porn site trying to pretend it’s not a porn site would turn me off, I’ll probably check in once in awhile to read a story, but maybe not? It sounds ridiculous, but I’ve heard rumors there’s more then one porn site on the internet.

I agree with the above. It is completely silly to take a very active forum ( one from a few still remaining) and kill it with this stupid rule. Hopefully the admin gets involved and tell Jaf0 that he is killing this place with his idiotic moralising rules.

The best as it is stated from above :".... the hypcrocity of a porn site trying to pretend it’s not a porn site would turn me off,..."

and so would me .

To provide further context, most members of the world are visually focused first and foremost thus pictures are a vital part of their lives with very few (statically speaking) being focused on what is under one's skin / between one's ears.

With regards to ".... the hypcrocity of a porn site trying to pretend it’s not a porn site would turn me off,..." as anyone performed a wellness check on either Tumbler or Twitter yet? :)

Just because the more popular crowd does it does not make it a sane or beneficial idea to one's long term survival .e.g [ your flavor of vice here, as most are somewhat destructive (e.g. mentally or physically) if overdone. ].

JaF0 isn’t making this rule. The moderators don’t make the rules here. Perhaps you should read the announcement again and note who made it.

I guess I should apologise to JaFO, but as a Mod he should be aware and ADVISE that fool Manu from Planet Sound that this lame excuse for this policy...

Many Literotica readers (and authors) shared with us that they visit the site on their phones and would prefer not to have NSFWs images on the screen while someone else is looking over their shoulder. Other members told us there ar
so many sites on the internet with photos and videos that they would prefer Literotica remain a haven for text

.... is stupid " looking over the shoulder looking on their phone". So let them go back into history and become just another ASSTR(.... DEAD....) full of lame stories because anything " juicy" is banned also... Maybe they should also publish all stories on paper, Gestettner them a Fax them to the interested parties.... That would be real history !! Good riddance !

Wait wait wait… is the outrage really about the new policy or is it mostly about AMpics and the creators who actually take time to produce content? Because at this point, weeks after the announcement, that’s really the only leg anyone has to stand on IMO.

So are there really that many people upset about having to click a link to view amateur photos? Like that’s the barrier too far?

I can understand why creators are frustrated. especially those who care about privacy and already go out of their way to contribute. But this wave of complaints from consumers? It’s kind of giving… well…

A general piece of advice - If free, immediate, in your face amateur content is that essential to your experience here, maybe it’s not the site that needs adjusting, maybe it’s your scrolling habits (with peace and love of course, this advice is coming from a brain dead TikTokker)

Edit - If it wasn’t clear, I’m including artists that draw/paint/any visual art.

Fair points, though my first response is that I wasn’t aware I needed your approval of my scrolling habits. I also wasn’t aware there were correct or incorrect ways to browse a website. Maybe you can point me to a rule book?

Beyond that, I’m not outraged. Annoyed, maybe, but even that’s probably overstating it. It’s more like it’s a case of diminishing returns for me. Years ago, I found the story section of the site, but I rarely browse stories any more. Then I found the forums. I browse the photo threads some, but I rarely post and have zero interest in interacting with other members outside the threads (chatting, exchanging pm’s, photos, etc). Actually, joining the forums makes me realize I’m a lot less kinky than I thought, compared to a lot of members here. And, as I said above, I find modern porn less and less sexy as I get older. I can find something to like, but I find an awful lot of contemporary porn trashy. Too many women with bad plastic surgery. & Botox and worse tattoos. Truth be told, I mostly skip over anything with a link to click. For me, clicking porn links tends to result in too much time staring at error messages or photos that don’t interest me. If that’s your thing, great. Nothing wrong with it. Just not something I enjoy.

Mostly I’m just irritated/amused the site seems suddenly ashamed to be a porn site and wants to pretend it’s classier. If thet’s the case, my first piece of advice is get rid of the rape category in the story section. ‘Cause that’s a whole lot more offensive than most anything posted in the forums,

Anyway, at the moment, I’m not into erotic stories, clicking links, or chatting. So the site’s appeal for me is…? I’m guessing my visits to the site are about to drop way off, then cease entirely? Or maybe not. Not really something I’m going to think too much about either way, so we’ll see. Either way, I’m done talking about the policy. Not my site, so not my decision. Plenty of other things to focus on in life.

If you’ve got this kind of bite in your banter, you really should show up more. You’d thrive in some of the livelier threads around here 😋 Feel free to PM me if you want a little tour ☺️

Imagine you walk into a nice shopping mall and there are no displays, no shop windows, no posters just signs like these : "shoesallsorts/leather/canvas/mens..womens childrens//Even doggie shoes. something"
and then there are about 5 like these among 150 other stores selling all sorts of wares.....

You'll be dumbfounded and so is a page of nothing then links. How do I separate crap from goodies aka something you do not like vs what you do like. Nobody will be clicking 100 times to see 5 pictures he/she likes....

This will kill this site.... Can you spell Lush???

This site isn’t image-based. It never has been. The vast majority of us are here for erotic literature. It’s called Literotica for a reason.
