I'm going to hazard a guess and say 'not boring'. Not everyone 'clicks' in conversation, and the conversations that quickly become stilted can be good signs that it's not worth taking forward anyway. It's not necessarily your fault, or theirs. If you don't 'gel', you don't gel.

I've had many initial pm's that feel like they're pulling teeth. And I've had some eloquent ones but still felt forced to me.
And then, now and again, I meet someone where it runs so smoothly, feels so natural, that it's a no-brainer to ride it.
