Sex & Shenanigans

I don't think I have even heard of anyone here not having a heat pump. And yeah, my house has crazy amounts of insulation, and it's a relatively old house for Las Vegas. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Funny, Nevada is also most uninhabited and largely uninhabitable. But that's because of a lack of water in the desert. 🤷‍♀️
Heat pumps aren't even common in the midwest.
In fact, they're extraordinarily rare. Even on new homes.

Yeah there are a lot of places like that. Concentrations of population in a few areas and then nothing.

Only 5% of Australia is considered habitable... by humans.
😆

Yeah where I am in Oregon gets a decent amount of sun, but because of where we are in the valley we don’t get enough direct sun to make it remotely worthwhile.

There’s no singular solution.
And here I thought you were a Californicator. That's funny!

Kind of makes sense though. In the 90's I got curious because of a newspaper article about some ideology questions and started asking around to my co-workers and was surprised that more of them were from Cali and moved north than were born there like me. Later still, I realized that almost all of the people who I had been really close to in my life, were from Cali, not Oregon even though I have never lived in Cali.

I moved recently. And there are so many people from California here. It’s just a numbers game. Doesn’t take a large percentage of 15 million people to statistically impact a population of 50k.

That's done here as well.
It's the most common way Solar is deployed residentially.

Depends on how you set up your system.

If you want complete energy independence, you have to have a battery plant and a system of inverters/rectifiers to convert DC Solar to useable AC. A LOT of cost and maintenance to take that on.
Blah blah blah blah …

Oh wait… were you saying something ?

Oh Oh Oh!!!

At mine, can I get them to play Elton John's "The Bitch Is Back" and then I jump out from behind a tree?

'Cause, that would be really cool!
Cool for you but we might have to plan a few more funerals for the people with the weak hearts

Sing “poisoning pigeons in the park” at mine please.
Of course. Please don't jump out at me.

It appears I have some reading to do 🤔
It’s a thing here. You were even tagged in a related post!

Since @Bry1313 is the worst … who’s willing to try spray cheese on Oreos for me?!

Ewwww. No way @crazychemgirl

Why would you ruin a perfectly good Oreo with disgustingly fake spray cheese?!?! 🤮 I’m going to be sick for the second time this week!

I’d rather ranch in a meat pocket than do that.

Also … Brit’s, do you guys have spray cheese? and if so, do you call it squirty cheese?

@Daisy_Love @Wand3rlust @ShaneoD

Not in this neck of the woods. It's an abomination.

I think you can order it, but it's not a 'thing' that I know of anyway.

But if it was, we would call it squirty cheese. Like squirty cream. It's a thing.

Skooshy cream north of the border, though... right, @Daisy_Love

I’ll take my personal double layer chocolate cake with coffee glaze a friend of mine showed up with instead, thanks

This made me throw up a little in my mouth.

Wonder how many of those “no”s would have been “yes”es if the Oreos were stuck to her nipples with spray cheese 🤣🤔

Still no.
She can take a shower first.
I'll watch.

I’m willing to offer boob pics for a video of a poster eating Oreos with spray cheese on top.

Good lord! How the heck are they costing $40K out there? I know, inflation blah blah blah, but, what?

If we were serious about fighting climate change, mass production and installation of solar panels and heat pumps would be one of those things the government would be heavily subsidizing, if not outright funding. But, we live in the US, and LOL nothing matters.
Solar panels were a good deal here a few years ago cause the power companies bought back the electricity people generated for same rate as what they paid so you'd get your money back in like ten years or so and a system could last 30+ years.

Now they pay basically nothing to buy excess power back on new solar installations so we need to buy batteries to use our own solar power when the sun goes down. Well batteries cost a lot of money and only last like 10 years. Then if you have an older roof like mine, the solar install can very easily cause leaks so they require a new roof. And all of a sudden, the cost makes no sense anymore.

I think the energy cost of producing panels and batteries and then the waste issues make wind and water power much better for the environment than solar though.
