Coffee Appreciation Thread

Finally gave in last year and bought an espresso machine. Using locally roasted beans. Took a while to get the grind size and brew time dialed in, but it’s nice to have a good cappuccino or Americano whenever I feel like it. Probably never will get the hang of pouring latte art though, lol.

I hear ya, I VASTLY prefer the disgusting dragon breath from just waking up to coffee breath

I assume most people do not like the former either. And so most (many? some?) people brush their teeth right away.

I feel like you took this as a personal attack. It was not. I know I am in the minority, I'm comfortable with that. My wife drinks it, clearly I can deal with it.

ah thanks! I am so glad you come for more than the boobs haha!

and yeah you can buy a coffee beans roaster for a few hundreed bucks...breakeven point likely depends on how much coffee you drink of course, but might be a reasonable investment?! or just a fun hobby!
I will admit that I came for the boobs, but I stay for everything else 😘

Guilty as charged — I definitely drink way too much coffee, but it’s honestly my little daily joy. There’s just something comforting about that first cup in the morning (and the second… and sometimes third 😅). I try to balance it out by staying hydrated and taking care of my health in other ways. Lately, I’ve been checking out supplements and wellness products through Pharmacy B2B to make sure I’m not overdoing it without support.

When I could drink coffee, and wanted to treat myself, it would be Kona Estate or Jamaican Blue Mountain Estate from Baltimore Coffee and Tea. Not a blend. actual Kona of Jamaican Blue Mountain beans.

Latte art is all visual!!! If you enjoy the coffee then you're doing it right!!! I've spent 25 years in the industry and latte art comes and goes. Also styles come and go. I have quite an expensive espresso setup, a good filter brewer but the coffee I drink everyday is a pour over filter. As manual as it can get

there was a /s at the end which, if you dont know,is internet slang for "end of sarcasm"...ie, my post was sarcastic
so no worries, im not thin-skinned

Maybe all of the above?

Actually doesn’t agree with my stomach usually. I drank coffee for like 6 months of my life, and I did enjoy it, but now avoid it…
yep, it can be a good "remedy" if yer...uh...backed up...or just want to go at a certain time or whatever!

Quixotique "Cogito Ergo Sum."

The beach sand's of Huntington Beach my first look at a Sony transistor radio, and the difference between men and boys... NHRA, motorcycles, and campers with guns? Stuck buying your same o same o cup of joe at Starbucks? Do you travel for work or fun and find yourself in a city where you want to get a great cup and dont know where to do? Buy coffee online? Addicted to coffee? This thread is for you!

So use this thread to submit recommedations on either what you like, what ytou dont, where you had a great cortado or espresso, where online you can find a great deal, what city has the best cup, you name it!

Happy to start off by saying, I have family in Portland OR which is known for offering many high quality cups of coffee. Stumptown Coffee is from there, has exploded all over the country and definitely enjoy their coffee. Water Ave also makes a great cup, also from Portland.
My Oregon favorite is silver falls coffee. That and chocolate covered coffee beans.

For the most part I make my own coffee. I buy the LaVazza beans, grind them fresh, and make the coffee. I have a friend that does the exact same thing and for some reason, his is just better
I had a good start on LavAzza, 100% Arabica in my workplace because we had our coffee machine in our office for the entire IT department and it was more socialising with other team members for me at the very beginning but later I really enjoyed the taste as well.
@LilKitKat I didn't know that the LavAzza company was founded in Torino.

I learned a lot of stuff in the army, but one lesson that has lasted, is that “even a bad cup of coffee is a good cup of coffee.”

I don’t go out of my way for bad coffee, but a good basic cup is perfect for me. My wife and I blend some chock full o nuts and the Costco Kirkland coffee together and it makes a nice solid cuppa Joe.

My favorite is the percolator, although we have been using a French press and cold or hot brewing using that. It’s a much smoother process.

Nothing like military coffee. One of out StaffSgts always had me make coffee b/c I made it strong. He had one of those 32oz travel mugs.

I work from a co-working office - I just rent a desk - and they tried new coffee beans a certain period of time a few months ago and they just used in 1 of the 2 coffee machines in the office and I really enjoyed it and it was LavAzza but I don't remember which one exactly but I need to request them to change back to that because the current one is not as good as the LavAzza was.
I use to use a similar classic, Italian style for preparing espresso coffee ☕at home and tried with the LavAzza ground coffee from the same product but the taste was obviously different so I gave up and I just drink instant cappuccino at the weekend.

That’s awesome. I never went anywhere wo my green Stanley thermos. Kept coffee hot for hours. Always helpful on nighttime operations or even just guard duty.

I have an espresso machine at home and I use an aeropress traveling of in the office. I love getting a good cup of coffee at a cafe to, but I have been disappointed so many times that I'm pretty choosy.

Here in Canada I like Phil and Sebastien and 49th Parallel beans. I've also got Cafe d'Arte beans from the states, I quite like their stuff.

Define too much coffee?

I'm always trying whatever new beans my local roaster has this month. Mostly lighter, natural process, occasionally darker roasts for chocolatey espresso. Hand grinding beans and pulling a shot is my morning workout lol
