Female Archetypes

Sapiosexual - Viewing a woman as attractive due to her intelligence
Callipygian - Women who have shapely or attractive buttocks

Put the two together and what have you got?
I havent the.faintest idea but please give me her phone number so I can do more research.

Fixed your post.
Nah,.you broke it. Queer architypes welcome just as much as straight ones.

I’ll just add I will never, ever, under any circumstances, EVER use the term “yummy mummy” for anything.
Not everyones going to use all of them.

What, no Cheerleader? High school girl who, well, leads cheers. And is pretty and athletic and not too brainy and only wants jocks (at least at the beginning of the story).

I'm going to say avoid things like specific jobs and roles. Cheerleader would probably come under the 'sporty' category mentioned above as well as a new one 'bombshell' and probably 'mean girl'.if she lives upto the steroetypes.

Architype might be the wrong word here, but we've been debating MILFs and Cougars over on another thread, so I thought it might be quite fun to make as long a list of possible of the various descriptive words for women with a certain outlook or body type who feature regularly in erotica. I'm suspect I'm explaining this badly, but if I get the list started it might help show what I mean... In approximate order of age.

Party Girl/Goer - a younger girl who enjoys partying and usually casual sex.
Daddy's Girl - a younger girl who specifically likes older men.
Wallflower - a girl, usually younger, who has difficulty finding romantic/sexual partners.
Femme Fatale - a woman who uses their sexuality to get what they want, usually to the detriment of the man in question.
Yummy Mummy - a woman who is still attractive despite have a young child/children.
Hotwife - a wife who sleeps with men other than her husband
MILF - a mum I'd like to fuck.
Cougar - a woman who sleeps with men who are significantly younger than her.
Matron - a strict authority figure, not necessarily a nurse, but usually in a position which combines discipline and care for a younger man.
GILF - a gran I'd like to fuck

That should be enough to get us started. (Depending on the success of this thread, someone by all means set up a male equivalent one). I'll pop back and update the list with other suggestions periodically.
What about a human being who doesn't need to be Pidgeon holed into some stupid subset.
A girl, a young woman, a mother, sister, lover.
Somebody who exists as a person. She has soul, she loves, she breathes...
She doesn't exist to be drooled over by men... She doesn't need to be hunted or be a slut. She is herself...
A living breathing member of the human race...
She doesn't exist to feed your fantasy...
She is real...
Think about that for a moment....
A human being. She has all the rights and privileges you do.
Why do women have to be degraded into subhuman groups?
Perhaps your relationships with women would improve if you treated them as such...

Just my opinion of course.

To be clear we're talking about architypes for erotic fiction. Drooling is kind of the point and the women (and indeed the.men) aren't real. Its nice to write complex and authentic characters but that also doesnt mean that people don't come to the site looking for particular types of characters.

Women can be erotic, sensual, sexy creatures without being forced into degrading subsets.
Women, are members of society, not grubby side bars in male fantasy.
They don't have to be Milfs, or any other derogatory anacronym.
They are humans...
You can write sexy female characters without having to use such terminology. Why do you have to categorise them???
They are just women. Young, middle aged, or more mature.
Those names are created by the very people who complain about tropes...
Be original, break the shackles. Treat women as members of the human race.
If they are attractive, say so. Do you find them appealing? Say so.
Merely my thoughts...

"What we have here is a failure to communicate." (famous line from the warden in the movie "Cool Hand Luke")

The OP is referencing drawing out definitions of WORDS to communicate with readers the various nouns used in erotic literature.

Yours seems to be a more nebulous "feeling" about the subject of a category of those words with opinions of what authors should be writing.

Using just a word or two, how would you give authors the tool to pull out of the reader the image of the woman as you want them to imagine?

I understand what he is discussing.
it doesn't change my feelings towards such terminology.
By using those terms in stories, we are building acceptance of them.
I realise not everybody feels that way.
I accept that, but it will not stop me voicing my opinion.
Terms such as MILF, are dehumanising.
Women are human beings...
It's not just women either.
Where a human is depicted as a thing, rather than who they are. That is demeaning...
She might be the brightest mind in the scientific world, but the moment you say she's a MILF... everything else gets forgotten...
Forget the fact she may hate it...
That she wants to be rembered for her deeds within the scientific world...

Erotica doesn't have to be grubby and bottom dwelling. It can be intelligent, and still arousing.

In my opinion anyway.

I understand your aversion to dehumanizing terms. But IMO what we're discussing is communicating a feeling from within the characters in a story.

The OP began with the terms "MILF" and "Cougar". Thinking of those terms in the proper context, I see the "MILF" as appropriately used in dialogue between those of the younger age group discussing the mother of one of them. One [male] might say "You mother is a MILF", implying that she is a "Mother I'd Like to Fuck". Whereas a "Cougar" might be more appropriately used in the context of age peers discussing a woman in her forties who seeks younger men.

In looking at Wikipedia for various terms for such descriptions, I found the current entry woefully inadequate, missing such terms as "lady-of-the-night", "tramp", "Hussy", "Vixen", "Sugar Baby", "Lion", and I'm sure there are many others. How would you describe such women?

I am sorry, but I disagree....
MILF is never an appropriate way to describe anybody...
If that converstion did occur. The young guy might / could say. "Your mother is an incredibly attractive woman..."
Him saying he wanted to "Fuck her" Is not and hopefully is never appropriate...
We have all seen people we are attracted to...
Those of us with manners, keep those thoughts to ourselves where they belong. Inside our head...
Again, merely my opinion. I know it is not a popular one, but nevertheless it's valid...
The more you use terminology such as above. You normalise it, and the belief that it's OK to use them breeds contempt for the above mentioned group...
Women, are not prey... Especially if they are in a relationship...
That I am afraid is a very male attitude...

A truly incredible amount of righteous indignation has been expressed in this thread, just because OP and others dared to take literary concept of “tropes” and apply it to characters. Which, you know, has already been done on the tropes’ site someone linked to earlier.

Apparently, this impugns on the dignity of real people, somehow, because it doesn’t represent their whole depth and complexity. No mention of the obvious fact that any character in any story is already a simplification, whether you then try to classify that character by tropes he represents.

Oh, and of course the indignation is multiplied tenfold because we’re talking about female characters. Something tells me those same posters who snarled at OP’s taxonomy would have much less of a problem with the archetype of a BDSM Billionaire or Brooding Nonhuman Love Interest. Double standards are best standards, eh?

In other words, yes, this thread is certainly a mess that one can only raise a drink to. Too bad; it didn’t started this way, but AH was just being AH again.

A young man might say to his friend "I think your mother is an incredibly attractive woman." But that doesn't communicate the same sexual undertone as the young man saying, "Your mother's a MILF."

Hearing the sanitized version, the friend might respond with "Thanks, I'll let her know, and she might invite you over for lunch sometime."

It would take far more words to convey the same meaning to his friend, such as saying. "I think your mother is an incredibly attractive woman, who gives me an erection every time I see her, and I desperately wish that I might relieve my erection in her vagina."

Lacking those additional words to relate his desire detracts from the communication.

When hearing just the word "MILF" or the lengthy, extended version, the friend might respond "Stay the fuck away from my mother!"

If you forbid the words, you fail to communicate, and you'll never learn who the predators are. You effectively enable the predators to hide.

Again, I respectfully disagree...
Demeaning a person. Lowering them to nothing more than an acronym is not sexual... It's just degrading.
Erotica is in the build up... Yes, she might have invited him for lunch, and perhaps something happened when they ere alone.
Perhaps the young guy professed his attraction...
Who knows hat could have happened...
By loering a human being to be nothing more than objectified, fetishised, takes away their humanity... Yes she could be stunningly attractive, and maybe she engenders those sorts of reactions.
Doesn't mean you have to degrade her...
It is dehumanising to reduce a human being down to terms like that... Sexuality can be direct without being degrading.

Sorry, we clearly have different views.
That is my opinion... I merely needed to express it.
That's OK. That, as they say is life.

Indeed. I have this problem with bimbo transformation stories. They're kinda fun until the woman has her mind reduced to dumb sex maniac, after which there's no interesting story to tell.

Why can't we have bimbos with the brightest minds in the scientific world? They so much more fun to write...

The failure to communicate is NOT between the young man and the mother.

The miscommunication occurs between the two friends, because of the forbidden word "MILF". The mother's son doesn't hear the friend's sexual intent with the sanitized version, which is why I said that effectively hides the predatory undertone, and it enables the predator.

Whether the mother wants to be a cougar, inviting the young friend in for a sexual relationship, is a different issue.

Even the most intelligent people in the world make mistakes... Men and women alike.
To err, is human...So many men have their brains turned to mush at the sight of a sexy female...
It is not restricted to one single gender...
Men have been guided by their little head far to often...

OK...
My point is...
Why use it?????????
Does it make the story sexier?
I don't think so... Just my opinion.
A young man is attracted to a friends Mother, he thinks she's hot... Just say that...

And women are so well indoctrinated with amatonormative patriarchal myths that all sense goes out the window the moment a guy with a boyish grin deigns to smile at them. "I know you're a ruthless bastard, but you're my ruthless bastard. Please knock me up so I can show off your virility to all my old friends."

There are plenty of interesting stories to tell, if you put your mind to it.

Try reading the Loving Wives story "The Fucking Bitch!" Read it all the way to the end before deciding whether she's a dumb bimbo, whore, or whatever. You can only learn at the end who she really is, and who is really the dumbass.

EDIT: Or there's "The Maneater". The genius husband recognizes his wife's brilliance and supports her doing what she wants with it.
