Day 7: A song featuring your favorite instrument (classical acoustic guitar)
I saw the prompt and there was no question which song I was choosing. It is one of the most beautiful acoustic songs I've heard. I could go on about why I like it but I will leave this one short.
Classical Gas - Mason Williams
No, not Eric Clapton. He seems to be credited with writing and playing this song, he did not. And though I can see he may have been involved in some way, he did not (as far as Google knows) ever record himself playing a cover of this song.

Day 7: A song texturing your favourite instrument

Colour me lame, but there's really nothing that quite compares to the voice and when it comes to that, I think of a ton of people, but I'm going with Roy Orbison to feature it. He regularly sang in three different octaves easily and as many as five at times. That's a bit insane for a male rock singer, especially that era. Even Elvis called Roy's voice perfect. And Bob Dylan said this...

He sang like a professional criminal. Typically, he'd start out in some low, barely audible range, stay there a while and then astonishingly slip into histrionics. His voice could jar a corpse, always leave you muttring to yourself something like, "Man, I don't believe it."

I could've chosen a dozen different songs, but this has always been my favourite. This isn't even the studio version, this is from a live performance in 1988 where you can hear some of the imperfections that still sound incredible even past his 50th birthday. This man's voice was stupid.

Day 7: A song featuring your favorite instrument

There are a surprising number that I could pick from, but I'll go with one that is not only a favorite but starts with the French Horn at 0:01 :)

God Only Knows - The Beach Boys
I was torn between this one and the Pretenders. That B-flat to F to E-flat glide in the opening bars to this song is magic.

Day 7: A song featuring your favorite instrument

I don't listen to Apocalyptica all that often lately but I still think about this song sometimes out of nowhere. I used to blast this album a lot in college so I guess it imprinted deep in my brain 🤷🏻‍♀️

Some not so mellow cello 🩷

Apocalyptica - I'm Not Jesus ft. Corey Taylor

Day 7 : A song featuring your favorite instrument

HURDY GURDY
I cannot put into words how much of a bop this song grows into. 😍

My wife and I got into a fight a couple months ago because I wanted to buy a hurdy-gurdy. Apparently, there are "more practical" things to spend $2000 on. But why pay rent when you can get a hurdy-gurdy???

There's a guy who absolutely goes to town on one at our local Ren Faires and he's a goddamn nerd Rockstar. Find the money!!

Day 7: A song featuring your favorite instruments

There is an (un)surprisingly few number of songs that feature a Piccolo solo. 🤷‍♂️

Day 7: A song featuring your favourite instrument
I Don’t Want It - Ween

This is one of my absolute favorite songs. I love the acoustic guitars and the solo. If you ever see them play it live Gene will start off on acoustic and then switch to electric for solo. Pretty cool and wild as Dean usually plays a lot of guitar solos. The tuning is slightly off by maybe a half a step I believe. And I absolutely love the lyrics and message. Has got me thru some days and nights and weeks and months and years.
