Feedback on new policy announcement.

Seen in the official Lit banner ads for cam girls today:

* naked side boob
* naked boob, fingers covering nipple
* naked fuzzy pussy mound, but boobs covered by corset, metal pole in front, covered next to nothing
* might as well be naked ass, thong so tiny and up her bum crease you couldn't see it

I would have posted a screen cap but that would break site rules. I don't own the photos of those cam models. (To be clear, I'm fine with them showing whatever they want in their photos.)

It's one policy for us, another for revenue generating site ads I guess.
Which appear over the very stories the complainers claim they don't want "over the shoulder" nudes in.
*sigh*

I sympathize with all the mods removing rule breaking images (underage, owned by another person, cock or labia). They have a tough and sucky job. So why not make it **impossible** to attach or link to images in those subforums where it's an issue and leave the rules following ones as they are?

It does appear to be gone. Also, if it had been removed by a moderator, I would still be able to see it. I can’t. It had to have been removed by the powers that be.
Do "admin" and "moderator" refer to different things?

Who, in their right mind, visits the amateur pics forum on a site called literotica but doesn't expect to see erotic images? Who loads up Illustrated erotic stories but doesn't expect to see erotic images? What about all the Cam girls that give Literotica its income? are they all to be fully clothed or are sources of income exempt?
Come on guys we are supposed to be responsible adults here, we don't need these kindergarten rules.

The cam girls generate income for the site owners so they're exempt, apparently, even though the reason given is people worried about "over the shoulder" viewing of nekkid bits.

The pictures in forums that break rules make headaches for the mods, so I understand wanting to deal with that, but that's not the reason the site owners gave.

As for the pictures that follow the rules, I'm completely with you. The rationale given for this just stinks. Why should artists and photo posters that follow rules be punished for some user's dumbassery?

I can think of a few reasons why the owners may want to ban nudes. I agree that the reasons given don't add up. The cam girls banner contradicts the reasons given.

Could you give some concrete examples (eithere descriptions or links) of pictures that follow the rules that will be punished with the new policy? I'm not doubting you. I'm just trying to understand what's going on.

She can't. No one can because the new rules have not been published.

We can make educated guesses, but not definite examples.

Your posts would fail any new rules though, seeing as they don't even follow the current rules...

Sadly it looks like the whole Mature dressed and sexy women thread is now gone.
Given the name of the thread(s), it seems like the pictures weren't all nudes. If I'm right, does that mean that pictures that obey the new rules are getting deleted just because they share a thread with pictures that don't?

Yes

See: AmPics forum
OK, I went there, but did not get enlightened. I saw one post where someone said their pic was removed. When I clicked on several IMGUR links it seemed to just take me to the IMGUR home page. Could you explain in words what's going on that pictures that follow the rules are getting deleted? If I'm understanding you correctly?

What's your opinion of this behavior?
If people are stupid or arrogant enough to systematically break the rules so constantly and egregiously that the site owners can't be fucked with their behaviour anymore and nuke the thread, that's their perogative.

Yes, some people may lose 'legal' posts because of the actions of others.

But that's no difference to someone calling time on a party because a few people won't stop doing drugs or groping other guests.

Nah. Not interested.

I read Manu’s post and was hoping it only referred to illustrations on the story side of things but seeing this discussion seems like maybe it is site wide. One of the complaints that was cited was NSFW images that pop up unexpectedly when you are reading something. I can understand that but if you’ve chosen to go to AM pics then you are looking for the visual and shouldn’t be surprised at what you find.

How would AM pics even survive if these new rules applied to all of the forums? If no nudity is what the site is moving toward is removing AM pics part of the plan?
that's what i'm wondering. is nudity not okay for people going into areas where nudity is expected and appreciated?

Where did I say Rafael held the copyright?

Photographs and digital images of classic paintings, even when in the public domain, are still subject to the copyright of the photographer. It would be wise to post that release alongside the images you are opting to post. It’s not an admin or moderator responsibility here to verify that on your behalf. Further, the site rules do say to only post photographs that you explicitly hold the copyright to. That’s a big part of the problem at large here with the tumblr style image threads.

You did suggest that some schmuck went into some gallery took these pictures and I have stolen them ! These were actually published by a gallery in Netherlands and are under open access as most galleries cover their art and publish it on the Internet. So, as I have said educate yourself before spreading false accusations.

BTW: "....release (form) alongside the images ???...." Did you just woke up from a coma and discovered The Internet ? :D
