Is anyone surprised, any more, when Trump throws under the bus* some follower he has previously defended?

*A better metaphor, I think, would be "out of the sleigh," to divert the pursuing wolves with a snack.

Newsweek (the President's new best friend) breaking the story that Mike Waltz and his deputy Alex Wong are being fired today by his most serene excellence Donald J. Trump.

Team Hegseth ( former Fox News weekend anchor and current Secretary of Defense Pickled Pete Hegseth, his current wife, his personal attorney and his tagalong little brother) all heard breathing a collective sigh of relief).
Waltz did accept full responsibility. With that of course, come its consequences. I think the President did the right thing.

He should've resigned once he accepted responsibility
Initially, Trump defended Waltz. I think we can assume an investigation was conducted, and as a result, both Waltz and his deputy have been dismissed. I predict others will follow as this investigation continues.

None of that means Hegseth is not responsible for all this, only that Waltz is willing to take the fall.
What it means is you were full of shit when you said, "no he didn't." Hegseth wasn't responsible. Waltz organized the chat.

exactly... toss the minions, keep the man who created—and exacerbated—the situation along with his 'dirty' line in his Pentagon office, created and designed to bypass the Pentagon's security protocols for his Signal chats and avoid them being a matter of government record.
