We have never been directly asked about the ankle bracelet, but there have been a few times it was obvious it drew a person's attention (both male and female strangers) and you could just see from their expression, wondering if we were in that lifestyle of wife sharing.

As others have said, reading teeny-tiny lettering on a dangling ankle bracelet dancing around on the end of a long appendage is hard to read though, so maybe they were looking for a more direct sign of it.

It's real, it is just that it is not a DECISIVE show of proof. It could mean someone is in the wife sharing lifestyle, but not always. For the person deciding for the direct approach... be wary, be very wary. Take note, many women wear them just because they like them not some obscure possible meaning.

Myself I hope it never gets to that point because they will seldom be worn, and I find them attractive.

As for "in certain circles", my wife has worn them at clubs and bars and has never been directly approached, but she does get a lot of looks at her legs. It is hard to say if the possible meaning of an ankle bracelet being worn has drawn their attention, or if they just like a good-looking woman in high heels, stockings and a miniskirt. Those three things unto their own draw attention in this era where that is not always worn.

She wears them all the time, sometimes multiple bracelets on one ankle, sometimes on both ankles but it’s always very sexy. Mostly just worn as any other accessory, very popular overseas. Someone else mentioned, it has much more to do with who is doing the wearing, and who is doing the looking, along with the time and place - I would call her more of a “warm” wife vs a hotwife but when everyone is on the same page, they are seductive and can set the tone early

It is not for every couple granted, but when your marriage is in a rut and you want to break out of that it can be fun to go to a bar or dance club and have the wife take off her wedding band and also wear her ankle bracelet. It attracts attention for sure. She is going home with me of course, but its intoxicating for her to realize "she still has it" as she is hit on by other guys. And it can be fun to seemingly start over for the couple as they pretend to meet up for the first time.

I know all the pretending seems silly written here as it is, but that is what sex is for; to just let go and have fun.
