Rust destroyed the Corolla I had. It was probably around 28 years old. That is too short for what cars cost now.

Cars today are built so that you scrap them in 11 years. That's 72 months for the original owner (because that's the length of the financing term) and 60 months for the second owner (because, again, financing).

28 years is really good. LOL. Mine was 18 years old when my mom handed it over and it went for another 7 quite happily. If the electrics hadn't gone it'd probably have gone for a good few years more - but finding electrcal problems in an old car like that - it just wasn't worth the money -someone who knew car electrics probaby could have, but when you have to pay for it- not worth it. The tires were worth more than the car at that point. LOL It was a great car tho. I would like a crew cab truck next time round tho. Way better for winter and snow.

Yeah, just look at the warranty's - they've all gotten shorter over the last 10 or 15 years
