Charity Begins Next Door scarred me, so I don’t think I’ll reread it, but I won’t have to; I’ll never forget it.

The harsh sex scene at the end felt redundant and somewhat ruined it for me, but it’s still an incredible piece. Interestingly, when I first read it, it had a score of 4.74 with 1.5M views; now it’s at 4.84. Given the high number of views and votes, such an increase in the score is quite remarkable.

A Slave to the Servants, by DoctorWolf. Sci-Fi, primarily group sex. Premise is very mundane, woman kidnapped by aliens to be a sex slave. But once you get past that, it's one of the best reads I've found in years, here or anywhere, a real page-turner; 37 chapters, and I'm only halfway through. Compelling, complex, characters who evolve and change, mostly for the better. Excellent prose. Imaginative world building. Gripping action sequences. Hot group sex, but this would be a fine story if the graphic sex was removed. A healthy dash of humor. Please do yourself a favor and give this a try.

Sacrifice, by Pandarus. A mythological fantasy. An outstanding piece of erotic literature, and a wonderful romance. Sadly, the author never finished it, and has been gone so long there is little hope he ever will. In spite of that, you will be well rewarded if you give it a chance.

Picking just one is so tough. Everyone has their hidden gem they keep coming back to. For me, it’s all about the kind of story that stays in your head long after you’ve read it. DrHenderson’s “Want You to Want Me” sounds like a solid pick, I’ll have to check it out.

But I've gotta say that the only story on this site I've ever favorited and reread is Heart of Stone by phsyc b mused. It's about a gargoyal being freed from his curse and the efforts they go to to rescue the rest of his species. Also an interspecies romance.

This would be a tough one, but it's been made easier by the fact that my favorite sex story was removed years ago.

I come here to read sex stories, but there is a story on here that, while I have no need to read twice, is better, as a complete story, than the sex stories I enjoy by far. In fact, if the writer took out the hardcore sex and replaced it with something NC-17 or something more pornlite like a 'mainstream' story, it's right up there next to my favorite Horror short story, 'The Raft.' (I'm not a Stephen King fan; I don't even like that guy. 98% of his writing is unreadable to me, but I do recognize something great when I read it and Stephen King has written 3 stories that I can go back to time and again, at least on audio.)

So, the story is: Welcome to Nocktanga Station by ChloeTzang.

It's listed as Sci-Fi/Fantasy, but I'd credit it to being a Horror story that has everything I enjoy in Horror, the psychological aspect, and the creepiness of the bug sex adds to that horror (sorry ChloeTzang, but the sex in this story didn't do it for me) but it's still a great story. (It's actually the only story of hers I've read, so I'm sure that I'm 1-up on her in that regard.) The main character is likeable, life was going well, only to end with the unexpected hopelessness of a horrible death that can't be avoided despite salvation being so close, and there was just enough world building to be interesting without taking away from the story's mood. Anyway, if you're looking for 'more than a sex story' then I recommend that one.

The Unicorn by qhml1 (Loving Wives) - Aside from a few minor editing issues, I think this is one of the best stories ever posted on Lit. There's one scene that chokes me up every time I read it.

I have been reading here regularly for about 5 years or so. Hard to believe its been that long. Even more difficult is finding a really good story I havnt read yet. Im a difficult customer to please. I dont really like in your face, down and dirty sex scene filled stories. I much prefer the buildup, slow burn, highly detailed journey to get to the sex scene type stories.

That being said there is no way to pick just 1 story as the best. Going thru this thread, I dont think there is more than 1 or 2 mentioned that i have read yet, so thanks for the suggestions. I really liked The Link. That was a really good one.

Which is extremely irritating. He has gotten greedy in his old age and has charged for a year in advance worth of chapters so far. Hopefully he will live long enough to catch up. He has every excuse about his lack of production.. But the story is so good he still has 5k-6k paying subscribers.

Another really good one Devine Gambit by Kemmers. Another epic space series. Excellent writing and creativity.

For those who wish they had an adventurous time in High School, you have to check out Senior Year Memories by Aimingtomisbehave33. Some of the best Character development ive read. The people he describes are so detailed and are so different from one another that I am able to sink into this story series so deeply its like a movie playing in my head. I feel like I know these people like I went to high school with them. Excellent, full of wanton sex, but has the slow burn sections i love as well.

I loved that story. I think I've re-read it 2 or 3 times. That sex scene where they let loose their emotions and just take them out on each other... I don't think I've ever read hate sex that I liked that much.

I can't pick a favorite. I could probably pick one by category or tag, but not just one.
That being said, the story that had the greatest impact on me was A Town Without Honor by TX Tall Tales. That story fucked me up for days. I couldn't read or write anything else for like 3 days because I just kept thinking about it. I was so pissed at the MC,

he threw away his entire family because he couldn't forgive his wife's indiscretion. At first you absolutely sympathize with him and you can understand everything he's doing and why. But then he just won't budge.
Great fiction characters make decisions that mere mortals can't or won't, that's what they do. applaud TTT for his commitment to the character, but man it was rough. The final scene where his now ex-wife calls him by his given name just made me cry.

Second this. I've read it twice. It's interesting the comments don't pick up on the motivations and reasons for the behaviour of the MC for a long time.

I love how the MC, and her captors, mature emotionally, and how she helped them change their world for the better.
Biggest regret is that I don't think DW is publishing here any more.

It's because he got sick. I'm not entirely convinced he didn't pas away eventually. I followed off site comment trails without any real resolution. It is a mystery almost as intriguing as the story was.
