Day 24: A song that mentions earth (dirt, land, etc)

Continuing the self imposed theme of only using songs I have saved on Spotify led me to some of the older (7 years or so) rap songs from when I listened to a lot more hip hop and rap. Getter used to make great EDM, but he stepped back from that and rebranded himself as a Terror Reid. This may only apply to me, but Terror Reids music is nostalgic in a way that reminds me of 90s rap. Not that it is written as 90s rap, but I can feel the inspiration.

Buried Alive- Terror Reid ft. Eliozie

Fuck the earth, put my dick in the dirt

Day 24: A song that mentions earth (dirt, land, etc)

Sweet Things - Danny Michel

Sitting on the grass at your mother's grave
Staring at the letters that spell my name
Stars still shine in a sky blue sky
You just gotta look with better eyes
I lay face down in the summer dirt
My ear pressed into the conducting earth
I hear radio waves and ghosts that fizzle and fade

Day 23: A song that mentions a body of water

My birthday is coming up tomorrow, and that makes me introspective. Or more so. As i have said in here many times, the ocean is where my soul lives. And this is a song of love and contemplation on growing older, written by Jimmy Buffett for a drug smuggler who would rather have been a pirate. I get that

Jimmy is a sailor at heart. I am a surfer. I have surfed the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Caribbean, the Sea of Japan, and the North China Sea. And everywhere, when you are past the breakers waiting for your set -- which is my favorite part of surfing, as boring as that seems -- it is just you, the sea, and the sky. And that's where I find myself, who I am, just me and Mother Ocean.

"Mother, mother ocean, I have heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all"

Tomorrow I grow a year older. When I get off work, I am going to drive a couple hours to the Pacific, strip down, and walk into the sea. I don't always do this, but it has been a hard year, and I want to wash it from me, to Go to Water.

And I may just be singing this.

"A Pirate Looks at Forty," Jimmy Buffett

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!🎂

Day 25: A song that mentions sky

Subgenres within subgenres, a never ending maze in which it is oh so easy to get lost. Most of the time it seems pointless, but then you come across a band like D-A-D and realize that, no, merely saying that they're a rock band isn't enough to describe their complex blend of music.

There's something else there.
A twang.
Blues rock.

"Not available," so I found one that was.

Day 24: A song that mentions earth (dirt, land, etc)

“Scarcity's a lie we're fed so we don't eat the rich
So fuck yer lawns plant a garden
Fuck yer landscape fuck a handshake
There's no compromising oceans rising
Fuck your profit we're fuckin dying
Forests reborn from the ashes
Mother earth won't kiss our asses
We can thrive or we can die,
she won't wonder why
Cause she will be fine”

Mel Bryant - Fck Yer Lawns

Day 25: A song that mentions the sky

I've loved this song since I was a little kid and this was always my favourite lyric. It's just fun.

The White House said, "Put the thing in the Blue Room", the Vatican said, "No, it belongs to Rome", and Jody said, "It's mine, but you can have it for seventeen million."
