Lil_Jenni's Adventures, Past and Present...

No, not entirely. 😉

But I (with a little help 😁) kept myself from spiraling into feeling like "bad" attention is all I deserved and then needing that bad attention.

It's like I've written before. I've come to realize that Lit is the virtual and verbal version of exhibitionism, at least for me. It's the same type of validation that reaffirms that my worth is in being a slut, or at least dressing like one and talking about being one. It's my way of avoiding my fears about life by self-sabotaging and bringing me down so I can't fall. Yes, it is counterproductive, but that's me.

But... It's like I'm suddenly realizing that this really is my life. I am a mother. I mean, I've been one for years, of course, but when it was just the Kiddo, I still kinda thought about it like I was just a slut who lucked into a great husband and a great son. But these two little bitches... Fuck... I mean, I'm a fucking mother to three kids. I didn't just luck into that. I worked hard and made this life for myself, and that's what I have to show them. It's my responsibility, because I am a fucking mother. It's paradigm altering shit, if you know what I mean.

So, some growth. But I'm still me, so... still crazy and cursing. I'm trying to cut back on the first. The cursing, however... Fuck... That's more difficult to stop. 🙄🙄🙄
-Hugs-

Fuck those cuss words anyway. 😘

So, kinda random question -- any of you have experience with cruises? One of my old roommates from college wants for us former roommates to get together for a Caribbean cruise this fall. She goes on them all the time with her family, and she thinks we would all have fun as a kind of reunion. All four of us haven't all been in one place since college.

I've never really been interested in going on a cruise. I'm much more a mountain cabin than beach kind of girl. Plus, I've always heard cruises are crowded and all about the booze. Since I don't like crowds that well and have been sober for years, it didn't seem like a good fit. 🤷‍♀️

But she tells me there is a lot more to do than drink and party, and she really wants us all to go. So, any experiences you guys can share?

I went on one cruise (western Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean). There was plenty to do without drinking (I think I only had one drink and that was during a shore excursion). The workout and activity options were nice and the dining was enjoyable.

I’d say it depends on what kind of activities your group would like to do for a reunion. It might be fun to do the dining, shore excursions and entertainment shows together.

Best wishes!

Yeah, that kind of what she tells me. I'm trying to be open to the idea. I'll probably end up going.

I'll give you guys an update too, even though things are pretty boring in my life... well, not boring to live because twins, but probably boring to read about. 🙄

They have always been different from each other, but it's getting more so. Twin B, who is smaller still, is a brawler. She beats up on her sister all the time. Hell, she beats up all of us but the cat, who's too smart to pay her games. 🤣🤣🤣

She's also decided she does not want milk direct from the source, preferring a bottle. And she took to solid food right away too. On the other hand, Twin A still wants milk from the source and doesn't really care for solid food, even though I try and try to get her to eat it. So, meal times are a bit of work keeping them both happy, and I'm actually thinking it might have been easier if I had not gotten their eating times synched. 🤷‍♀️

Oh, and I don't think I ever mentioned my decision on teaching next school year. I'm going to take another year before going back. I won't have a guaranteed position waiting for me, but that's okay. Something will work out when it's time. 😁

There’s enough activities on board to keep yourselves busy. They have funny hypnotist, comedy shows and other shows etc. I felt the same before going on my first cruise. I’ve been on around 10 since, If you live in a cold state it’s a good break from that. There’s enough of shore excursions that appeal to everyone too. Royal Caribbean has some really good food too. The days that are sea days can be a bit boring but they seem to up the activities those days. I’ve been on other company cruises and I like Royal the best. Not as many children.

Another thing I just thought of updating -- I RSVPed 'no' to my ex-girlfriend's wedding. It was just going to be too weird for me. Hubby was relieved too. Misty still thinks I'm being prudish, but even she backed out of being a bridesmaid and is just attending, so I suspect she might have had some misgivings of her own. 🙄

Oh, and I can bench 110 again! I was worried it would take me a long time to get back there since it took so long to build up my strength before I got pregnant, but it's only been since January I started really working out again. 😁

Of course, that is no longer more than my weight... 😥 I either need to loose 15 or work my way up to benching 125... 🙄

Excellent bench!

Never been on a cruise, but would like to go. Antarctica, Mediterranean, or Alaska for me.

I say breastfeed as long as you can. We did it with two of our three and it worked wonders in some ways for sleep, health, parental connection, etc.

Im glad you are taking an extra year

And here I was just wondering how things are going!

Taking the extra year is probably smart. You will be busy, and don't need the work adding to taking care of everyone (Yourself included!)

As for the bench, that's awesome! But, don't worry about the weight (body or what's on the bar!). Count your reps, and watch your form and breathing. Holding good form comfortably while getting reps in big. Even if you fail to finish a rep and need a spot, but are holding form that's worth SO much! Big bounds in strength will come with discipline (form, control, and consistency).

If you get bored on the bench, try it with dumbbells. Start light and let those little stabilizing muscles get used to it. Switching things up like that will help your gains.

Cruise. Eh, never really been interested. But the wife is asking if we want to try one sometime, so maybe this year???

My trainer switched me to dumbbells recently. I had been working almost exclusively on machines when pregnant and then at first coming back from being pregnant. But she put me back on free weights a couple of months back, and we recently moved to more dumbbell and kettle exercises over barbell. She's just using the max bench to assess my strength gains.

I was amazed how little time it took for me to get my strength back. When I first started up again, I felt really weak. She told me I wasn't really much weaker than before the pregnancy. She said I had just forgotten how to push myself to use my strength. 🤷‍♀️

Oh, I have no choice with Twin A. She's not giving up the breast anytime soon. 🙄

I think I could get more behind an Alaskan cruise. Mountains. Snow. Whales. Bears. 🐻 ❤️

But tropical beaches? Not my thing. But the other three are all excited about it, and I don't want to be the one not to go.

I went on a cruise as a kid. My dad had some kind of work related gig on the boat, so the whole family went. It was fun, there was in fact quite a lot of booze, but I think it was mostly older folks (like retirement age) and so there was lots of activities and other entertainment such as live music of the old fogey variety (I was ok with that). The food was also apparently excellent. I say apparently since as a little kid I didn't notice or care, but I remember my mom being very impressed. The main thing I remember was my sister (also a small kid) and I shared a bottle of Coke every night. The waiter would come over and pour the Coke into two glasses for us, and there was always exactly the same amount in each glass. We were impressed that anyone could pour with such precision.

These days I'd be more suspicious of the cruise ship as a floating virus lab, and I'm sure the trip itself was super expensive if you had to pay retail. I wouldn't do it on my own volition but since I went with my folks, it is generally a positive memory.

Meh... I've taught grade school for years. There are no worse virus labs... 🙄
Of course, I've been out almost a year now, so maybe I shouldn't be so flippant. On the other hand, my son's brought home a shit ton of bugs during that time, and only a couple ever got hold of me. Maybe my immune systems still in top form from all those years of exposure. 😁

So, for you workout guys...

Today, my trainer gave me two 40 lb. dumbbells and told me to bench with them. I thought to myself that 80 total would be no sweat since I did 110 last week on the barbell. Fuck. I barely got the right one up and only got the left about 3/4s of the way. As someone mentioned above, it's the muscles to keep it all balanced that are the issue, I guess. 🤷‍♀️

WTF! You benched 110, and the trainer starts you with 40's???

Start with 25, or 30's.

You don't want to be too light, but not so heavy you can't control it. Concentrate on controlling those as you do your reps.

Unless you're going for a one rep max, or doing a pyramid up in weight, shoot for weight you can comfortably do 6 to 8 reps, and gets harder for the last few. If it feels too light or your hitting 12 to 15, bump the weight up.

And yeah, if you haven't worked with anything like the dumbbells before you'll feel like newborn fawn trying to find her legs! 😂

It's good she's switching things up. There is a lot to be said for keeping your body and muscles surprised. The body can adapt to repetitive things, so keep it guessing!

Hopefully she's showing you correct ways to do the exercises. Easier on the joints long term and prevents injuries.

So, kinda random question --
I write this having returned from my twelfth and my wife’s sixteenth cruise in 7 years yesterday. It took me a number of years to convince her to go on our first cruise and now she’s hooked – we have four more cruises booked over the next fourteen months – and that number is likely to increase. Neither of us drink and we’re never bored while on board. As with most things in life cruising is what you make of it…and… you’ll never know if you like it until you try.

I'm sore from working out this morning, but not as much as from last night. I wanted it forced and rough and all that, and Hubby brought his A game. Fuck yeah. 😁😁😁

There's just something about being thrown on my stomach and having Hubby force his way up my ass while I try to stop him and scream and beg and promise anything it he doesn't violate my ass... God, I came so fucking hard, and more than once too. 😈😈😈

It's too bad he didn't make me lick and suck him clean after... Forced ATM would have been a perfect ending to getting ravished so well. But Hubby just isn't into that, so I doubt it even occured to him. 🫤

That's what my friend tells me, but all the stuff she talks about sounds like stuff I only used to do when drinking. Of course, I always used to be drinking back then, so maybe it's stuff other people do not buzzed or drunk. 🤷‍♀️

Try Disney Cruise Lines. A little more expensive than most but a better atmosphere, great service, family orientated (though kids not required), and little to none of the alcohol fueled silliness. PM if you so desire.
