Here in Jersey, which is zone seven, the prevailing school of thought is the last oast is on or before Mother’s Day. So I usually don’t plan till mid May, except for root crops and cold weather crops like carrots, beats onions, garlic, and lettuce.

Wife and I just planted a 50x100 area with about 200 pumpkin plants or various varieties. Nice border of mammoth and Ukrainian giant sunflowers on the north and west border.

Hopefully the pumpkins do well. Last we got nothing from ours
