I like the farm life thread, but I think it’d be good to share and give practical advice on all things that bloom, bear fruit, provide shade etc.

Share your plants, ask each other for gardening, and plant advice and enjoy the growing season.

Plants are sex after all, starting from seeds. (OK, it’s a stretch)

So watcha growing??

Love the lilies especially stargazers ~

Trees took center stage today.

Our cherry tree. I think it’s about 70-80 yo.

Daffodils - I’ve taken a few of these, but they’re spectacular in the late sun.

Sycamore - this is one of the largest sycamores I’ve ever seen. It’s in our farm.

Sunrise this morning. Red sky in morning, sailors take warning. We got pummeled by thunderstorms today.

This thread soothes my soul.
Here's some of my planties...

Always wanted to have a greenhouse! That looks amazing. Do you farm it or use it for seedlings?

The closest we have is a grow light system. We grow lettuce all year round. People prob think we’re growing pot. (I did grow pot once - my neighbor and sister said it was pretty good.)

The cherry trees are spectacular right now in NJ.

Many thanks. Good sunsets and sunrises.

You posted a picture of the other day that was pretty good. A lot of people use Imgur. For whatever reason I have a problem with that app on my phone, so I use Twitter I just copy the Twitter link.

It's an unheated 6x8 Harbor Freight Greenhouse. Due to the extreme fluctuations in temp, it's mainly used in spring for giving garden plants a jumpstart. I start indoors, transfer to GH once night time temps stay in the 40's, then to the garden once ground temps stay above 50/60. I purchased a solar ventilation fan to see if it helps with regulating temps...just need to install it now.

Haha! I get questions about what's in my grow tent all the time. It's become a habit to show visiotrs what's growing so I don't get a visit from the police later. 😅 They always seem disappointed when they see various hot peppers. Do you have a hydroponics system set up for the lettuce?

I have 7 varieties of tomatoes and 6/7 types of peppers.

That is pretty cool! I mostly grow cherry tomatoes. The big ones tend to split on me. Even last year when it was super dry.

I’m not too into peppers. There’s a greenhouse here in Jersey that has a few dozen types of tomatoes and something like 125 pepper varieties. It’s amazing. They also have all kinds of herbs. Great place.

Hosta, daylilies, vinca, sedum, peonies, widow’s tears are just starting to come up in SW PA. Hibiscus won’t start showing until May. I planted elephant garlic in Oct. Some of it died over the winter as expected. But, some of the foliage is still green. I’m not sure what will happen with those that did not die off.

That wasn’t mine. I took it off of Pinterest

I just upload my pics on Imgur and copy/paste them here if that helps. :)
