I've changed the dialogues and rewritten stuff. Ive checked many times but English is not my first language I couldn't find where is the problem

And the volunteer editors there are too many. I don't know how to ask them correctly.

If someone knows the reason for this message or how to correctly ask volunteer editor . kindly help

Did you title your story with a chapter number in the title? That's what it looks like they're complaining about

Thank you , I think that is the problem , I used different titles I thought we don't need to put numbers since we give add to series in draft . I will now put the numbers and sent it. Thank you

The safest thing to do is:

Story Title Ch.01
Story Title Ch.02
Story Title Ch.03

Alternatively:

Story Title - Annie
Story Title - Billie
Story Title - Charlie

That way, the site joins it all together automatically, and you don't need to use the Series function.

The Title field has a default length of 35 characters, but Laurel can lengthen it if required.

Thank you, since there is series function I thought the last add will continue as second and follow so I've given them different titles . I never thought that could be the problem
Now I've submitted as you've said adding part 2,3 at the end. Thank you for the response

To use the Series function you have to get the individual parts published first, then compile your series. Doing it the way I've described, the chapters get joined together automatically.

Instead of ch2 I've put part 2 at the end of the title. Same title as published before, but I've also added it to the series in series function. Will it have any problems? Or should I remove the series function and submit again?

Should be okay. Laurel (the site editor) might change it a bit, but then you'll know what to do for future chapters.

No you don't. I've created series before any of the stories were published. It can take a while for the new series to be approved, so I generally do it in advance if I think I'm going to give the chapters non-numbered titles.

I don't understand, does that mean something other than title is wrong in my submission

Anecdotally, it seems like first time authors get approved under different rules from new-ish authors and, at a certain point, veteran authors get their own criteria as well. There's no confirmation of this from the site, but it would explain a lot of examples of "Why I rejected when story X does same?"

Useful to know, but wouldn't the delay with the series approval slow the whole thing down?

From your rejection notice, I'd say not. I think it's saying, just fix your titles.

Mind you, sometimes people do get multiple rejections for different things, one after the other. Let's hope in your case it's only the one thing. At this point, I wouldn't touch the submissions, but be patient. It can take a while longer for new authors.

Hence why I do it in advance. At the very least as soon as I start on the second story. Most recently I did it for my D&D fantasy series. The first chapter was "Dungeon of Desire: Level 1". I assumed "level" wouldn't trigger the automatic series creation tool, so I did it manually. By the time I published "Level 2", the series was approved.

Level 1 and Level 2 would sort correctly. It's an alphanumeric sort.

The manual series function is fairly new in the grand scheme of things - before it was introduced, you really had to plan chapter titles, if you didn't want to use numbers.

What exactly are the titles you're using for your stories, in the order you want them to appear in your series? It sounds as if you had some numbers or something in there that gave Laurel the mistaken impression you had submitted them out of order.

No I've used different titles. the thing I've published was Dracula of dravenmoore for part 2 I've used dravenmoores new powers & history for part 3 I've used dravenmoores end and new king. I didnt use user numbers in it . and also only today realized I need to press publish in series . I thought series would be published since 1 story in series is published.

Ahhhh! Okay! Yep, that's the issue. Once the series is in the publishing queue, you should be good. I've had good luck with both the series and the first story in it getting approved at the same time if the series hasn't made it through the approval queue yet.

This is not necessary. I add to series when I am first submitting before it is published. There is a bug in the web site so you have to save the draft once or go into publish and back out to make changes before the add to series button appears.

I've had at least two stories -- 100% human written -- sent back more than once claiming they were AI. Let's just say that the note I sent wasn't the nicest thing I've ever written.

The system created series for me, but it has not added all the stories in the series, and in at least one case, combined stories that aren't part of the same series. One of these days when I have time, I'll need to go in and fix thast.
