It was funny to hear her be so loud. She seems genuinely pleased, I guess you would call it. Projecting human emotions and reactions onto cats is probably a place where we shouldn't tread. She always knows where I am when I come in. She has tooken to following me to doors when I leave, too.

All caught up at 0100 on a rainy early Saturday morning!

I had a good day. My lawnmower should be ready to roll when I get up. The battery is on the charger. I worked on my nails. Not finished yet; I'll finish later today.

And... drum roll, please..... I got my 2023 income tax refund today, complete with a tidy add from Uncle Sam in interest! WHOO-HOO!

This means I better do my taxes this weekend! I have no idea if I will owe or get some back.

The visit was okay. Food was good. The repair plan worked as planned. The repair part was perfect. Nary drops were seen afterward.


Trying to work up some motivation to get my ass out there and cut the grass for the first time this year. Last year, Old Cranky started on the first pull, and on the third one every time thereafter.

Its not that deep. I'm still a kid just playing with my kids. It's a low effort endeavor that doesn't demand much praise or notice. It's just fun.

It's a time investment that not all parents can or will invest. As others have said, your children will remember those wonderful times spent with you... and how that time together made them feel.

Doing good thanks Lili. Bit tired after the week of driving but it's not too bad when there are two of you to share the burden. Funeral went well and it was nice to catch up with my entire family (only 10 of us now in total)

Yeah - already heard that news from my BFF on the East Coast. They were not amused.

Classroom and driving across the state training is done. Now I train in the field in my home area until I certify. Two to four weeks, and with two students per trainer rather than seven. I hope to pick up a lot more practical steps.

Very glad the training is ongoing for a bit longer, but with a much better Instructor : Trainee ratio.

I did it 15+ years ago and have (mostly) remained caffeine free. I don't count the very occasional cup of regular coffee here and there.
I went from @ 12 cups a day to none in a month's time. Tapered to avoid withdrawal.
