I cry in a lot of movies. My kid makes jokes about me getting salt in my eyes from the popcorn.

As for other reactions, David Cronenberg does some amazing body horror. I was in the theater watching Scanners when I was a young teenager. It is about a group of psychics with varying powers called "scanners." There is a scene early on where Micheal Ironside's character, the villain who wants to kill the others so he is the only one, sneaks into a marketing event where another scanner is exhibiting his power to a group of investors. Ironside and the other scanner get into a silent mental fight, and with a combination of telepathy and telekinesis, blows the other guys head up on stage, violently.

It had been such a tense build up, when his head explodes, which I did not expect, I jerked back violently in my seat, and I guess I rolled my eyes back in my head when I did. I felt an incredible, almost blinding pain in my head from the muscles in my eyes, almost like a muscle strain. And every time I see that movie -- and I am a Cronenberg fan-- I get a phantom pain in my right eye at that scene.
