People staying outside of China can freely check online what the Cultural Revolution that took place during 1966-1976 is.

People living inside can tell you what it looked like in reality. After making comparisons, they can tell you that the current USA is going through such a revolution period.

In China's version, the top leader, President of the country Mr. Liu Shaoqi, was put under house arrest first and to prison then and to death eventually. The Red Guards, most of them the high school students, disrupted the normal classes and made teachers their target of revolution by having them tied with back bent up to 90 degrees and beating them with belts, sticks, chairs, or anything at hand after giving them an insulting judgment in the public. Local people, trying to defend the dear great leader Chairman Mao from the reactionary forces inside the Party, armed themselves first with primitive weapons like kitchen knives, bricks, bottles, iron bars, then with self-made guns, later with authentic firearms stolen from the army. They began their armed struggle with each other in the streets, in the countryside, in any place where there were people whom they believe were their arch enemy.

In USA's version, the chief executive officer, people-elected President Trump has been blocked in carrying out his agenda by the opposition party and the high court time and time again, the latest is that a local judge also joined the horseplay, issuing an injunction that will have consequence as he claimed to the federal big boss. After MAGA supporters stormed the Capitol Hill a while back, the Dem followers did not take their fate lying down by attacking Tesla as an appetite. Even during the election campaign, assasin was assigned to kill the hopeful.

You might have the Chinese perspective right, but you're entirely mistaken about your take on the USA's version. It seems like you're depending on Chinese tea leaf reading—tasseography—to interpret patterns in tea leaves for your absurd interpretation of the chain of events you tried to connect together.

Mao Zendong criminalized bureaucrats and the educated 'intelligentsia'. He imprisoned those who were opposed his views, calling them counter-revolutionaries. He promoted the poorly educated peasants into positions of power and imposed clothing rules on the population.

There is nothing new under the sun.
History will repeat itself.
The education authorities have been dismantled and can it be a good beginning of a new era?
Only some of you do not want to wake up.
In China, we laugh at those who do not pee in the bathroom but in bed, with their eyes open because they want to stay in the warm bed.
It is a shame that Mr. @Lazaran, who might have most probably stopped his school education at third grade, always tries to offer his lousy advice that even his grandma would turn a deaf ear to, to oversimplify the bilateral relationship of the two major powers on earth. What's more, he doesn't even know whether the US owns workable nuclear weapons or not in reality.
I sincerely advice him to see more Disneyland Cartoon or MGM's Tom and Jerry rather than waste time here disturbing adults in their business talks.

Nicely expressed. Bravo‼️

I’m persuaded…

The U.S. should definitely nuke China. (Just to get rid of the paid government propaganda trolls.)

The Cultural Revolution was an effort to make Chinese society more perfectly Communist, and it involved mobilizing teenagers.

Nothing like that is happening here. Few of America's young support the present administration.

American politics prompt some Chinese to explore historical taboos

Comparisons with the Cultural Revolution abound

Mar 13th 2025

It is difficult in China to discuss the horrors of the Cultural Revolution openly. The dark period from 1966 to 1976, when millions of people were persecuted, many of them to death, by fanatical gangs unleashed by Mao Zedong, is skated over in official histories. Under Xi Jinping the subject is even more taboo. He describes reflection on Mao-era atrocities as “historical nihilism”—a threat, as he sees it, to the Communists’ grip on power. Yet in online discussion of American politics, censors provide leeway. When mocking or lamenting the Trumpian world, Chinese netizens often refer to the Cultural Revolution. Their comments are revealing. . . .

I think you made the survey by checking information online, as the mainstream media did before the election.
But you may have left the silent majority out, who are not active online.
Even smart people like Elon Musk are having the head spun, he doesn't know his son has changed the gender to become his daughter until it is too late.

What defines cultural revolution in the USA is the decline of Christianity. That's a huge break from most of our history, even more so than in Europe, where the same process started decades earlier. A post-Christian America is in birth and we can hardly imagine its cultural outlines.

For instance -- getting back to China as a model -- we cannot say whether a post-Christian America will be more amenable to Communism or socialism. It might conceivably be less so, because Christian socialism will lose what little influence it has now.

Does the government/party admit what it was like in reality? Or is the CR one of those taboo subjects, like Tienanmen Square?

That would be a bit more than a culture war....and China is perfectly capable of nuking the USA right back again, as well as wagimg quite effective asymmetrical warfare, which they have trained for and we have not.

Very likely that China could take down our power and, telecommunications grids at short notice, sabotage water systems and generally cause a societal collapse in the USA at short notice. Blow key bridges, take out oil refineries, fires in major food warehouses, take out airports, there's all sorts of ways you could do it. A few kilos of fentanyl into high rise air duct systems and there's key businesses gone. Crash the banking system by dumping Treasury Bonds onto the market, sink ships in key waterways and bring ports to a halt, blow LNG tankers, load cargo ships with HE and sail straight into US naval bases and detonate.....assassinations of key people, and those mght not be who you think they are....Sun Tzu.

Nah, not a chance. It'd be suicide. That said, there's a reason himself and I have Zombie Apocalypse stuff stashed away and some very good friends who think like us

Really, the only advantage we have here is that Asians have no souls.
