🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

I'm starting to do some walking and gentle yoga to ease back into workouts. Monday marked 4 weeks since my fall. I feel gross but know I'll get back to where I was. I keep reminding myself to be patient.

We had our first scrimmage last weekend out of town and it went well! We lost by 8 points in the last minute of play. It was a great bout, and very competitive. Since I wasn't skating I volunteered to be an off-skates officiant and it was a good experience.

Looking forward to *hopefully* getting on my skates next week after my orthopedic follow-up. 🙏

Back in the forest, and.. that feeling after a good workout? 👌🏻🫠
Just so darn good.

Now, lunch.. I do not know about you guys, but my eating habits may be a bit peculiar.
I tend to eat the exactly same foods for a period, just to take a really long pause from them, while then eating something different.. for weeks!

Right now? Fried eggs. Gosh.. I love them (Right now).

Have a lovely Friday everyone!

I go through a bit milder version of that I think too.

Well dammit now I want fried eggs
Have a lovely Friday everyone!
You too!!!

Du er virkelig fleksibel!! :wow:

Jeg har selv nogle øvelser fra min fys til min ryg som jeg laver, da den er blevet lidt stiv i det. Men det er heldigvis kun stivhed og ikke andet.

That looks like an "in the air" pancake mobility stretch at the very beginning! I have a love-hate relationship with those puppies...

I feel amazing afterwards, but during they make me sweat.

Hi all. Just fractured my ankle and heel rock climbing, so now I’ve started working out to try and stay sane and not lose progress. Working a lot on pull ups, shoulder exercises with bands, modified pushups, and hang boarding (finger strength). Thought about adding some core exercises but not sure I have the interest/discipline.

I’ve not really worked out regularly before other than climbing 2-3 days a week. I’ve occasionally had to deal with rehabbing annoying injuries (tennis and climber’s elbow and minor shoulder stuff). I’m trying to keep track of reps and progress. Still waiting for my hang board to arrive, and need to find an online training routine to follow. Also focusing on eating healthy and not drinking too much. I’ve been positive so far but it’s only been a week!

Sorry to just jump in, but for me:
Same with core stuff, but a trainer I once had just added imbalance to various other exercises to include our core. Just a thought because planks and crunches suck, but other things on a balance ball, on one leg or otherwise destabilized isn't as bad?

Can’t weight my injured foot for 5 more weeks. Might see a trainer at the climbing gym I go to though. Always helpful to get expert advice and motivation.

Ugh that sucks ..... Hang in there and do what you can. Yes getting an expert to help is everything..... I couldn't have gotten back so fast from a foot injury last year if not for the PT I had!

Doing ok with my workouts so far. My hangboard arrived and I got it mounted and have been using it. Although I still need to finalize a proper finger training routine. I’ve just been winging it. I seem to have the most interest in progress with pull-ups. I have been alternating between going for max reps, high velocity reps, max added weight, and added weight for reps. I’ve already seen some gains which is encouraging. I also reached out about a consultation with a personal trainer at the climbing gym. Apparently members are eligible for a free 1 hour initial session. Haven’t been drinking too much and haven’t lost my mind yet either.

I've been off from running for a full week now and it feels weird. It's all good, this is a proper reset and rest after a race, but my mind can feel it (even if I think my body is thanking me).

For those interested, I ran a 30 KM race last weekend. A distance I had never run before and one I was skeptical that I would survive. But I did... and I'd do it again. While it was cold, windy, rainy, and there were significant elevation changes, it was fun? Words I never thought I'd say. Plus I immediately went for the biggest burger I could fit in my mouth when it was over, pretty good reward.

When I started posting in this thread, I was barely a runner. The challenge month had me build my first run schedule, with long runs of 4 and 5 KM, and helped get me going on this journey. That wasn't very long ago. So this is all to say, on this serenity Sunday, if you're feeling a bit worried about where you are at or wondering if you can get to where you're going, you are doing great and you definitely can.

And then when you do the thing you legit get to eat pretty much whatever you want for an entire week. It's glorious.

Thank you, @QuietCanadian, for saying this. It speaks volumes to me. I maintain that, and I’ve said it before, the most difficult part of any workout, or making any decision to start a new routine, or even posting in a thread like this for the first time, is that first try. We all start somewhere. We all take that first step. We all stumble and mess up and fail a million times, but that million and first time is the one that sticks. It’s not just those people over there that can do it. You can too.

Ugh I sound like a Hallmark card. But it really is true.

It is true, 100%, and it's better than sounding like a Hallmark Christmas movie, I think. Hopefully we don't find out someone owns a Christmas tree farm. 😂

I could not love this particular Hallmark card more!!!

I had some friends join me for a hang board session at the climbing gym earlier in the week. We all did the same training routine and it’s the one I’ve been meaning to use. I down loaded an app but am procrastinating on programming the time intervals into it for the training routine so I can do it on my own.
Today should will be a workout day and I really should set it up, because it will just be automatic after this. Maybe one more cup of coffee 😂

That sounds impressive, always admire wall climbers!
But oof I know the procrastination problem all too well - who’s up for a 2pm accountability declaration today?! Or for those who work Fridays, a 7pm one or something?

Oh boy accountability 😂. Ok I’m in for 2pm. Appreciate the added motivation.

I setup my app with the necessary interval timers 💪. I’m just starting my workout. EST here
Good work! Hope it went well? 💪💪
I’ve been semi-disciplined… done a third of the kettlebells and kicks that I planned, not done my wall sits yet
Which means I should get back to it and not be thinking about excuses… 😂

Workout was great . Personal best in added weight pull-ups 💪. I like the hangboard setup at the gym better, but it’ll do.
You got this!
