DeJoy Resigns as Postmaster General

The head of the beleaguered U.S. Postal Service, Louis DeJoy, resigned Monday after nearly five years in the position, leaving as President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency have floated the idea of privatizing mail service.

DeJoy had said last month he planned to step down but hadn’t set a date. He leaves an agency with an uncertain future. Trump has said he is considering putting USPS under the control of the Commerce Department in an attempt to stop losses at the $78 billion-a-year agency, which has struggled at times to balance the books with the decline of first-class mail.

The USPS has not lost a dime, it is a service that has an associated cost much like the military.

DeJoy is of course the MAGAt who ripped out perfectly good automated sorting machines in order to stop people living in red areas from voting by mail during Covid.

Also in today's news, Trump has ordered a cut in the minimum wage for those in government-contracted areas. Because otherwise, how are billionaires to increase their bonuses?

I don't know, but it could well be this person's been 'suggested' by the musk/Project 2025 lot to trump and he's approved because he's been told whatever shit made sense to tell him to get that approval.

just as with Social Security, FEMA or the DOJ or the FBI and the USPS etc.., etc..., etc..., the first move is to make the public dissatisfied with the services being received. That's achieved by slashing funding, causing chaos, making these units less able to do their jobs. That lays the ground for "These agencies are unable/unwilling to do what you need them to do and so the only way forward is privatisation." This is the aim of musk/doge and the power players who'll rake it in off the backs of these aggressive takeovers.

I knew someone who was a USPS lawyer. They said their job mostly consisted of protecting the post office from its employees.
