I think this question is so difficult because it's framed as one person wanting more, or moving faster, and ends up looking like a yes/no rather than "I want X and you want Y, so we settle on Z." I don't know if you've found this, but I've met a few people who want the confidence they feel from a face pic before they'll invest time in building a friendship (as opposed to a Lit relationship of some kind). I get that people want to be sure they're engaging with someone who's basically who they same, but I was surprised that a face pic would matter for that, rather than just...chatting?

I have not had this experience. Of course, it's unusual that I do more than swap the occasional PM. Most of my interactions remain very casual. However, I have noticed that with few exceptions, most people send a picture of themselves very quickly.

All this talk of visuals has brought home to me how differently I do Lit than most.

When I joined Lit, I never thought I would show my face (or any picture of me) to anyone on here. But things change when you get to know and start trusting people. A couple of people know exactly who I am and I don't hide who I am with a few more friends so they could probably pretty easily figure it out. I'm comfortable with it because I know they are people who, even if something happened and they hated me, they wouldn't be out to ruin my life. Mostly cause no one would care that much about me.

A face picture from someone I enjoy on here is always my favorite. I like knowing what people look like and it helps me think of them as real people when I can see what they look like. I do think a face picture on here is much more intimate than a body nude. I've seen a lot more dicks than I have faced and I've sent a lot more boobs than I have my face. I feel weird asking to see someone's face if I'm not comfortable reciprocating so I haven't done it much, but I'm always curious what everyone looks like behind their usernames.
