I hate talking about it, but I saw this post yesterday (I'm MIA most of this week, I have a TON of work to do, but specifically wanted to weigh in on this topic), and it was the push I needed to have a very raw conversation with MLT. Nothing she didn't already sort of know, but the extremes and broad scope were new.

Depression scares me, more than any other "natural" thing on earth. It has damaged or shattered countless lives. The funerals I've attended in the past 15 months from the aftermath of untreated depression... there are no words. And then the toll of what nearly 30 years of conflict and war has done to my brother and sisters in arms - 22 a day; It's not a perfect statistic, but it is the one that people know... the veterans, which make up less than 6% of the US population (down from 18% in 1980), 22 veterans succumb to depression every single day.

No one is alone - no one! I don't care who you are, what you believe, or what you've done (mostly... let's be real) - YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Message me, call me, call 988 (veterans, dial 1 after you do), talk to someone.

There are so many things to be depressed about, it's too easy. And all the various clinical depression diagnostic options... we have a real problem. Thanks for bringing this up, making space for it.

This shower photo called to me! Got me a little in the feels. Every time I’ve gone through any major depression in my life it was utterly alone. With kids, the only way I sheltered them from my pain was alone in the shower. When I went through PPD with my last kiddo and my spouse was against seeking help, I cried alone in the shower many times with my daughter asleep in her bouncer just outside of the shower. I sought help anyway. I worked through it.

When I realized my marriage was ending with separation, I found myself alone again in the shower while my kids were at school so he wouldn’t hear me.

Never again, my little treasure - never again.

I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that alone. I can't imagine. PPD was something I worried about for my little sister when she had nephew. I'm so sorry you've had to go through so much alone. The shower has definitely been where I've found myself sobbing during one of my breaks. That's why that one spoke to me. Easy to hide yourself from others that might ask questions, or worse, not ask at all.

Those words mean more, to me, than even the L word at times. The images I have with these convey the circumstances or emotion that goes with these words.

The image with the added words, the promise, I think is just what the first image means as a Love Language. The other images are just continued ways I see these words having a physicality to them.

"I got you" was something that my wife and I always said to each other and to our kids. But then there was a time when my kids said "We got you" to me and I will never forget that day. Oh, whenever I find the rare, positive poetry or writings about brown eyes, I melt a little. It was something I hated about myself for a long while. Brown eyes were so boring. I can count on one hand how many partners have ever had their mouth on me, so far, only one was exceptionally good, the one with the most interactions is kind of terrible. Rumor has it, I have an amazing experience awaiting me - and I fully believe this will shatter all previous experiences.

That said - this is obviously just my thoughts and opinions and represents no one but myself.

Anyone who says a bad blowjob is still a good blowjob has never had a bad one. Ok, here it goes.

None of the other senses are as involved as taste. Touch is feeling. Sight is seeing. Smell is about aroma.

The tongue is about taste yes, but so much more. It involves aroma. Also it involves touch. And all of it is pulled together in a pinprick of sensory delight or a glorious wide lapping of desire.

Oral can be so intimate and sensuous or it can be craven and wild. Once you involve taste you are completing a sensory maelstrom. Once you say "I've tasted you!", there's no more unknowing. You are known.

Now you can settle in for intensity. Your free to taste everything.

Go taste someone.

This is such an interesting take on what has been shared. The tongue definitely gets to be a part of more than one sensation, and perhaps that's why people are so attracted to tongues themselves. But, in giving pleasure, one of my favorite tools, more so than hands most of the time.
