Michigan polls are showing a majority of people wanting to become part of Canada.

Much like how Russia took Crimea, Canada is interested in adding Michigan to it's borders for the sake of those people who show that they are really Canadians at heart.

In time, Canada may decide that the U.S. current climate of fascist leanings and rhetoric is a threat and then, much like Russia, decide to invade and liberate the U.S. from the fascist regime.

Whole populations would be relocated to Canada during the skirmishes while the world is aghast with the war.

With recent alienation and trade wars, the U.S. stands alone and finds itself accepting trade partners and energy supplements from Russia while Canada continues to receive aid and trade from it's new European partners. Britain even accuses the U.S. for starting the war as it escalates beyond reason.
