I’m interested to hear what you think. I remember not enjoying his writing style when I read it right when it was published.Wicked by Gregory Maguire
Same. I feel Maguire is a fairly bland writer. Actually prefer the musical to the book.I’m interested to hear what you think. I remember not enjoying his writing style when I read it right when it was published.
So far I’m not enjoying it. Debating just giving up on it now before I get so far in that I feel compelled to finish it. I’m about 1/5 in.I’m interested to hear what you think. I remember not enjoying his writing style when I read it right when it was published.

It’s been over a decade since I read it. There were some overly-detailed and dry descriptions of the sociopolitical landscape and physical landscape of Oz, and some really dark themes going on. It did get more interesting toward the end and set up some things for the sequels, which I never got around to reading :x I usually do like reading retellings that delve deeper into familiar stories, especially from different points of view, but Wicked was a tough read.So far I’m not enjoying it. I loved this book! It's not just about the crimes, but he goes into detail about CSI and technology, especially the early use of DNA and using genealogy to help solve cold cases.UNMASKED: My life solving America's cold cases by Paul Holes
