Sex & Shenanigans

When I was young, and didn't speak English very well, I thought Savage Garden's Animal Song went

"i want to live
lie cannonballs"

and had no idea what the song had to do with animals. My brain just decided that today was remembering-random-stuff-day so, here you go. I shared.

To be fair, lots of people speak English just fine and get song lyrics completely wrong. “Commonly misunderstood lyrics” is it’s own trivia genre

This seems infinitely worse than my Cannonballs, but, maybe it's not?? Am I the same?? Oh god.
Well, sung words are typically easier to mishear than spoken, also making it conform to the beat can throw off normal speech cadence. The music itself can create background noise that makes the words less definable, and thats not even taking into account things like scream or growl musicality from genres like Metal and Grunge.

I was also very much into pirates back then due to Monkey Island soooo 💃

Googled it; Bruce Springsteen? It's not that the music is old, it's just that I don't particularly like Bruce Springsteen. Have nothing against him, he's just a bit... boring to me 🫢 I like I'm on Fire and Dancing in the Dark!
I was thinking more

Everybody sing wrapped up like a douche....and these days even if you give the correct lyrics they don't know what it means typically.

But then again I totally forgot Springsteen
