The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Not yet... will be doing some research.... my mom said "get one with big wheels and self propelling"
I am in agreement. Self propelled really helps. My old one cable got fucked Jo and I could never get the self propulsion to work again. It’s a bear and I leave it down at the farm.

I got a new one (self propelled) and it makes all the difference. You’ll still get your steps in.

I'm finishing up late tonight! As @likes2watchU says, the struggle to keep up on this thread is real!

I've been caught by B2 today for the first time in a long time. We have some (ahem!) catching up to do. 🪶🪶🪶 So please respect our privacy and do not enter when the red light is on! 🤣🤣

If the post is a-rockin, don’t come a-knockin! 😂😂😂

Did you have a good trip home? I hate it when I wake up before I want to then can't get back to sleep. 😖😤

That's amazing your iPad just charged up again!

It's the rebuilt component which may make it a tad untrustworthy. Then again, maybe it's just some st000pid kind of malf. Nonfeasance instead of malfeasance. I don't know. I was pissed regardless until the healing power of the cosmos fixeded it.

It knows how I talk. It cloud-accesses my computer stuff and I can "write" by talking to it. Typing has never been my thing. I outright suck at it and I'm never going to be interested enough to put time into it to get gooder. I love it and have been more productive since I got it. There be books-n-pomes (poimes?) clawin'ta get out. It gives me the opportunity to strike when the iron is hot, to create when the urge hits me. Kinda like a wordy version of projectile vomiting.

I hope it's worth it... it seems to suit my need to "push the envelope" though at 59, I don't feel that need as strongly as I did in my 30s. Lol

I do love many aspects of it. I go to work 8 times a year, seeing things most people never get to see.

It's still a "meritocracy" out here.
It's rare, but when I do talk to people from my office, it's like talking to old family members.

My off time, truly is off time.
Who else gets 2 weeks off after every month on?

Cons... Rough weather is like a bad ride at the fair that you can't get off of.
If one can't handle the solitude, it's like prison, with the added option of drowning. Lol

Honestly, I don't know if I could fit into a dry land 9 to 5 gig again.
Oh, the pay isn't too shabby either.
It all seems to balance out... my longest continuous day was 42 hours.... but many days, I do the square root of Fk'all. Lol
I've spent a fair amount of time at sea (civilian) and the full-time crew (ABs, boatswain, and even deck officers) are a different breed from us landlubbers.

Personally, I loved my time at sea (maxed out at 49 days between ports)l, normally 3-5 days), but it was not consistent with broader career and family goals.

Anyway: I get it. The lure of truly off off-days is something most of us can't really appreciate and time at sea, even (especially) overnight watches, is a uniquely powerful human experience.

Happy Saturday. I look kinda caught up but I ain't. Y'all done posterized too damned much yesterday and there wasn't much of me left last night when I dragged in. Slept like a log and 2 hours later/longer. Taking Dr. Tyler to early lunch at 11. Then we have some scheduling stuff to go over for bill-paying and planning an' shit. We haz rain. It had some ice in it which I saw when I went to the truck to get my dirty clothes in to wash.

It IS possible for c-diff to be transmitted person to person. How old is your granddaughter? If she’s old enough, she should be isolated. Her dishes should go directly into the dishwasher and, ideally, not touched by anyone else. Clothes directly into the washer. Anyone caring for her or touching her should wear gloves and wash their hands well.
Thanks Lili and Miss K for the advice!

UPDATE- took Momma to a drive through c19/flu/RVM RSM? Whatever it’s called and she has the flu. That seems to be the good news. Mucinex DM and Tamiflu…she’s sounding better already.

Granddaughter. Her fever spiked to 105 yesterday. Took her to the ER, and they got her heading south to 102…Tylenol and something else. So on top of her C-diff she has the flu. I was shepherding mom around so only getting bits and pieces on the phone. She’s has been on anti-b’s for a week or two for this C-diff thing.

The funny thing is the kids are blaming momma for giving it to her and momma is blaming the baby for her catching it!🤣. The clown show never ends! Her and the baby are inseparable so who knows what the truth is. I will pass along the dishes and clothes and glove routine.

Thanks again ladies for your expert advice! 😘😍😻

Since my Key West pics broke the spell of winter around these parts, and It seems I have the power of the Groundhog, I’m moving on to Bavarian Spring Pics to trump the furry rodent and bring on spring sooner! That ground pigs prediction be damned! 😂

If you use the Lysol with bleach.
https://whatkillsit.com/dangerous-bacteria/does-lysol-kill-c-diff/#:~:text=Lysol All Purpose Cleaner with Bleach is EPA,777-83 located on the back of the bottle.
Unless they took a stool sample, the dr can't know via a Zoom call if she has it or not.🙄 Is she on antibiotics? Sometimes they will cause diarrhea.
She was not on anti-b’s. Since it’s just the flu, Tamiflu and OTC. Thanks for all this info.

Oh…the baby is 19months old…
