Good morning Wat and Boat. Yes the ice is here and I am not walking anywhere. The salt trucks are out but the side roads are bad.

How are others doing in this crappy icy weather? Be safe and try to stay warm.

I go this afternoon to have the biopsy of the prostate. I heard it’s quick and not painful. I am taking Tylenol with me to get ahead of any pain. And my GF is going with me for moral support. I am glad she is part of my life.

Oh, gosh, M! Your situation is such a quandary. Has your mother been evaluated for dementia? Alzheimer's is one form of dementia; your mother seems to be exhibiting some signs.

If the HHC can't handle being with your mother, the agency from where a he works should send you someone properly trained and qualified to care for her.

No. How do you do that to your mother? It's like I know she needs to be evaluated, but doing it too soon would just be an insult and embarrassing to her. I think she knows because she spends an awful lot of time telling us she's not crazy when she describes these events to us.

On a brighter note, I got some sleep last night because my teenager did what I asked her to do. WOOT! Time for a celebration! Thank you! Thank you! I'll be signing autographs of my new book, "How to unknowingly inspire your teenager to listen and do 5% of what you tell them", over by the peanut gallery for only $20.

Had a good evening at the big dart throw. Didn’t win but had fun nonetheless! Off to help one of the bubbas put up some light fixtures today then meet the kids teacher for a conference. Full docket. I almost feel like a Wat or Wonderer today! . Not my usual lazy self.

I figured they have heavy duty protective gear to wear to protect them from little 12 lb dogs!

I am more scared of the little dogs than big ones...... our dachshunds were more nasty than any German shepherd I have met

Dachshunds are a breed to be reckoned with! There were three kids in the neighborhood that had the first pool back in the 70’s. Both parents worked so the whole neighborhood would sneak into their back yard for summer dips. The problem was you had to “sneak” past no less than 8-12 wiener dogs! I think they ran a rescue or something for them, but man those things were terrifying! We’d send one kid around the house to distract then we’d all go jump in before Dieter the Dog nipped your ankle1

Talk to her doctor ..... or to your own about your concerns. Get advice about next steps....

Let them explain it from a med perspective...

You can't let your moms illness destroy your family.... if she is a danger to the health and wellbeing of herself or the people who care for her she needs a medical evaluation and steps must be taken.... you are not required to implode your life for your parents.....it isnt in the son and daughter manual

What if it was something that is not alzheimers or dementia but another medical issue that could be solved with medicine or a procedure..... her momentary embarrassment or anger is a small price for her, your and your wife and kids wellbeing

He was a killer... when he was 6 months old he killed a full grown groundhog and then dragged it from under a car
