I see you met my online ex from last year....
That woman is a patriot & deserves a Metal of Honor for her service. 130 Nazis were less effective soldiers, and pissing fire because of her. What a hero!I'm dead![]()
That's a new take on vaginal dentata
I don't recognize most of the covers, but, bottom left and bottom right are Stephen King's Duma Key, and Lord of the Flies, respectively?? SHIT picks?? I wouldnt trust that shopkeep to pick out picture books..
My thoughts exactly! Lord of the Flies is a classic!!!!I don't recognize most of the covers, but, bottom left and bottom right are Stephen King's Duma Key, and Lord of the Flies, respectively?? SHIT picks?? I wouldnt trust that shopkeep to pick out picture books..
Maybe they'ະຖ bating hate-readers knto reading good stuff?? Idk!My thoughts exactly! Lord of the Flies is a classic!!!!
Library, and each has a tag explaining why they hate them.I don't recognize most of the covers, but, bottom left and bottom right are Stephen King's Duma Key, and Lord of the Flies, respectively?? SHIT picks?? I wouldnt trust that shopkeep to pick out picture books..
Must be, I'm sure they'll also defend Jane Eyre as a classic, when it's possibly the second worst book ever written!Maybe they'ະຖ bating hate-readers knto reading good stuff?? Idk!
My experience with Lord of the Flies is always going to reflect sitting through Mr. Moore's excruciating AP English class. I can see where that would color my appreciation. My thoughts exactly! Lord of the Flies is a classic!!!!
Yesh, all opinions are valid, even when they are qualitatively incorrect, ike that one.Must be, I'm sure they'll also defend Jane Eyre as a classic, when it's possibly the second worst book ever written!
Thats me & anything Hemingway. I'm convinced AP English is designed to make you over analyze literature until you can't stand it!My experience with Lord of the Flies is always going to reflect sitting through Mr. M Moore's excruciating class AP English class. I can see where that would color my appreciation.
Here's the real irony: I really enjoy the film adaptations. It's quite possibly the only book that I like better as a film.Yesh, all opinions are valid, even when they are qualitatively incorrect, ike that one.
Jaws, The Godfather, and Ready Player One are all in that category for me.Here's the real irony: I really enjoy the film adaptations. It's quite possibly the only book that I like better as a film.
i always see in tv shows how US students have to analyze and find meaning in books that all kids in US has read..?? Is that not just a tv-trope but real?Thats me & anything Hemingway. I'm convinced AP English is designed to make you over analyze literature until you can't stand it!
I don't care avout Jaws, i prefer deep blue sea. I find the godfather tedious and prefer scarface. RP1 is a travesty. It's 50 Shades but for not-gamers.Jaws, The Godfather, and Ready Player One are all in that category for me.
And if the librarian was even moderately feminist, I could see having strong issues with Lord of the Flies as wellHere's the real irony: I really enjoy the film adaptations. It's quite possibly the only book that I like better as a film.
American Psycho... the book's great but a little too fucked up even for me. The movie's a much better story, while the book's... a piece of art to be a appreciated but not enjoyed. Here's the real irony: I really enjoy the film adaptations. It's quite possibly the only book that I like better as a film.
Nope, not a trope. It's obnoxious. Why can't I just enjoy the story. And, why am I penalized if I don't get the same things out if the book as the instructor?i always see in tv shows how US students have to analyze and find meaning in books that all kids in US has read..?? Is that not just a tv-trope but real?
So. Weird.
How can a kid assign anything but face value or imagined truths to something writ by someone they dont know
I loved Ready Player One, I had no idea it was a book until long after I'd seen the film!I don't care avout Jaws, i prefer deep blue sea. I find the godfather tedious and prefer scarface. RP1 is a travesty. It's 50 Shades but for not-gamers.
I try to read books through the lense of the era it was written. If I didn't, 99% of books written before 1990's would be unreadableAnd if the librarian was even moderately feminist, I could see having strong issues with Lord of the Flies as well
wait what lol, they think there's a "correct" way to interpret imagined hidden meanings behind books?? L to the O to the L!Nope, not a trope. It's obnoxious. Why can't I just enjoy the story. And, why am I penalized if I don't get the same things out if the book as the instructor?
the film's some good dumb action fun, it's awesome and cool kinda like Battle Angel Alita (watch if you havent!I loved Ready Player One, I had no idea it was a book until long after I'd seen the film!
i have a first edition copy of jules vernes From the Earth to the Moon in swedish from like 1870 something. It's literally unreadable because swedish adopted a standardized set of grammatical rules just after it was published that pretty much completely changed the way words are spelledI try to read books through the lense of the era it was written. If I didn't, 99% of books written before 1990's would be unreadable
