If you have a FWB do you have rules that you and your friend agreed to? What are those rules?

Do you spend the night after a play date?
Do you discuss the others dating life? Are you sexually exclusive?
Did you discuss if/when the agreement will end?
How often you do you have play dates?

I probably picked the worst person I could to try to have a FWB with because is someone I used to date but things never progressed into anything. We have been in the talking stage of things but will have a first playdate this weekend.

I'm demisexual and very protective so I find it hard not to develop a tribal relationship with my partners. I'm very clear with my partners about defining boundaries and expectations up front and as they arise.

At the end of the day if I have a choice between keeping someone as a friend or risking the friendship with "bennies" I'll usually choose not risking the friendship.

But...

Treat all comments as a perspective and a point of view. Every situation is unique.

I agree. No one should take advice as the one and only way to deal with any situation.

My wife had fwb's when we were dating, but were able to see each other only once or twice a month. Her rules were:
1. "Love" is not to be mentioned
2. No spending the night together
3. No exclusive sex, both were free to fuck others
4. Either party could end the relationship
5. If her fwb suggested that she dump me, the relationship ended
6. She determined what kind of sex act was allowed on any date

1. I agree. If ever "love" came into play to me that would single the end of FWB all together or if it was mutual progressing into a true relationship.
2. I agree. I've done this in the past with "not dating" relationships and it just makes things weird and complicated.
3. We agreed that if either of us began a relationship that became sexual things would end.
4. That shouldn't even need to be said. Anyone should be able to end any relationship at anytime, for any reason.
5. NA, in my situation
6. No sex act should be forced upon anyone else (unless that's your thing). Do you mean that she was the only one to make suggestions?

Her fwb was free to make suggestions or even try things, but "no" meant "NO." She only had one problem and that was when one guy pulled out of her pussy and rammed his cock into her ass with no warning. That ended that relationship.

Wow! That definitely should have ended any relationship. No should always be NO, regardless of what type of relationship you have with someone.
