That caramel sauce in that light looks almost like mirror glaze!

I'm thrilled with how it turned out. Every component is delicious, it'll be so fun to cut a slice and try it layer today.

chocolate cake with earl grey buttercream

It's one of the more complex cake recipes I've made.
Last night made the cake batter and baked 3 layers.
This morning made salted caramel sauce, tea infused butter and then a meringue before I could make the frosting (the base is meringue with the tea infused butter, vanilla paste). Now it's chilling before I top it with caramel sauce.

OMG

We all getting anxious about eating that cake, and it's over there, chilling.

A quick check on my phone tells me it’s 11F here… and the switch to Celsius gives us around -11.5.

Just with sauna before and after, and I am game, totally! Without - not. My asthma needs the warmth of the sauna afterwards.

Though hot cocoa is always nice, too, of course.

Might it be a browser script blocker getting a bit overeager? I've had that happen on a different forum. Had to whitelist the site and then it was okay again. Or maybe I switched to a different script blocker, don't recall.

I've been buried in heaps of fabric today. Not even mine - my friend's. Though one heap travels with me tomorrow.

I'll be working on a few projects around the house starting this weekend. Doing some weatherstripping around windows and the garage and also sanding and repainting some water damage that I was never able to get to. I anticipate being very dirty.

I'm on my way home. My bag was half empty when I traveled to my friend, now it's stuffed and mote than double in weight. But I haven't slept decently for days... (her guest bed doesn't help) I think I need more tea to survive.

You may remember I posted a while back about a dangerous tree situation on my property. I got a quote for removal and it's... expensive. But since this has the capacity to seriously injure or kill someone, I'll take the money out of the bank and take care of it.
