I love this show. Thornton is just amazing in his role.

But the politics of Sheridan - rural versus urban - are palpable.

Have you watched this or Yellowstone? And if so, what aspects do you enjoy and why?

I'll post my perspective in later comments.

Billy Bob nails it. I haven't liked him this much since Bad Santa, and the writing is superb.

Loved that part where he wrecks the "rancher" and sets him straight about being an oil man.

Same with the windmill scene where he breaks down how not very green they actually are and how important oil is to modern living.

Haven't watched Yellowstone, though I have seen a few clips that were pretty good scenes, like ending the biker fags.

Before you watch Yellowstone, I suggest you watch the prequels - 1883 and 1923 if you have Paramount+. If you don't, I think both are worth a month subscription to get them watched.

But Costner makes the main show. Just as Thornton makes his role.

I didn't know there were prequels, thanks for the tip.

Got it on the watch list. After I get through "Severance" I'll probably start on the Dutton series.

Which btw if your into sci-fi, seems pretty good. I'm not saying the story won't or can't poop out in later seasons but I'm 6 episodes in and it got it's hooks in me.

We just rewatched season 1....I forgot so many things. And so many questions remain heading into Season 2.

Love sci-fi. You'll love the rest of the show... guaranteed.

Not sure what type of sci-fi you like but when 47 introduced "Stargate", I about flipped out. 🤣

I agree with this …

Column: Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman’ needs less fossil fuel propaganda

Continuing a trend that has plagued the Paramount+ streaming series from the start, an otherwise entertaining scene became a vehicle for a random diatribe against renewable energy and climate change activists.

Beyond the propaganda, I thought the first few episodes were pretty good. But after that it devolved into ridiculousness that borders on parody. They should’ve hired a writer with an actual plot.

Where can one find this Landman? I’ve seen some clips but don’t know which direction to tune my rabbit ears.

My wife loves the Expanse. I have not really watched it more than a few episodes. One of the best realistic shows, she tells me.

Westworld was a good one until he third season as well.

Awesome
I'm on the third watch of The Expanse. It fucking rocks.

I do love the characters ...I just haven't sat down to watch the whole thing.

Absolutely a good show
They do it right. Not overly dramatic and you *feel* like you're in their timeline.

She's got good taste, it's fantastic, a little slow burning at first....but man it's really good.

The rural (belters) vs small town (Martians) vs. metro (Earth) political commentary gets really deep too. I think you like many will spend a good bit of time chewing on that aspect of the show when you get the chance to really watch it.

She keeps telling me the same.. I'm not sure why it's been difficult for me to get into it. I know the dynamics.

I appreciate your perspective. Thanks
