Hahaha..... I asked because I just got into TOTK. Kind of obsessed. Just started (I've probably found only a handful of korok, for reference - yes still on sky island).

The others - don't know them! Maybe I'll get to them if my entire video game life isn't taken up by you-know-what, as it seems it may be 😏

Nothing like life decisions should be important to us, no sorry needed. Yes career decisions is what I do for a living with a wide clientele...most gave you good food for thought. Also at this time B would with the bumps would be my call

I've sort of been programmed from birth to believe that I only have a right to notice an attractive woman if she would be equally attracted to me, and that no woman could ever truly, honestly be attracted to me, so I don't get to appreciate beautiful women. I'm trying to work on it, but a whole lot of women in my life have reinforced the idea. It's hard. I am broken.

But I do not have the right to put any of that on anyone else. I've accepted that it's my fault because I refuse to change, now I'm trying to shut my mouth and stop typing about it, yanno?

Sorry for any harm I may have caused. This maybe should have been a PM, but that felt too intrusive. Thanks for all you share and take care.

Clarifying question for A - is it contact or salary? 40k more sounds huge, but if it's contract when you are currently salary you'd really need to crunch the numbers and weigh all the stuff (taxes, company not paying into social security, health benefits, 401k or no?, etc).

Other major question that may not be easy to answer - what's the support network like in the position. Especially if it's a big step up in terms of experience needed, are you able to fill in your experience gaps with a good team/available boss?

Here's an important one: what do you WANT to do?

Depending on how those questions shake out for you: A. sounds like a great choice to me. Just use your extra 40K to buy a second sweet-ass computer for personal use, put the rest in TRUMP COIN and enjoy early retirement (please no one comment seriously on the trump thing).

Actually many women are attracted to men that are "less attractive" than they are. Evolutionarily its like a safer bet (again, this is some women). Go get 'em tiger.

Honest answer, A. The biggest reason was the chance to prove yourself. Sometimes the chance to go outside your comfort zone and see your limits is a good thing. However, I see how comfortable B looks. Except I don't peg you as one who necessarily likes playing it safe. I do see you as one who enjoys the challenge. 💐💐💐

I technically like breath of the wild better. but totk is hella fun. the first main boss (hopefully you do that guy first, you can sort of choose), is easily the most fun of all of them.
the final boss, ganon, is one heck of a fun fight. do NOT start reading how to beat him or looking up spoilers or itll ruin the fun, truly. happy to give you tips whenever though...its an epic game.

So...that all sounds like a confidence issue, not an "appearance" issue. And I mean that not knowing what you look like. I dont care if you are not "conforming to conventional beauty standards". So get that out of your head also.
and I am definitely saddened to hear its been instilled since birth or a younger age etc...that might be tough to overcome.

BUT...

I am sure tooooons of people have confidence issues combined with "not looking like 'famous attractive celebrity X'", and a lot of men prob do especially when younger and are just aiming at all the "pretty girls"...and not looking at whats inside a person...they just see...nice ass/big boobs/whatever...and are like...hells yeah, im gonna ask her out! Instead of talking to the cute girl sitting next to them in algebra class that actually likes the same band you do, and plays video games, and is into the same books or dungeons and dragons or kicks ass at soccer or whatever...
Anyway...I dont know you well. but...I bet you have tooooons of attractive qualities, including the fact you recognize that you are missing something in yourself that you want or need...so you are introspective, have a goal (or two or 22) and thats all amazing. I have money in nvidia, rigetti computing, and quantum etf currently.
I am not going to give trump or any sort of bitcoin or crypto thing a penny...ahem

Anyway, yes..so $.
I am overpaid, and I totally know I am overpaid and likely make more than many of you, and less than some others. I know a few people I converse with are retired (hopefully livin large), another is a bigwig attorney, and theres a few others in IT and such that have potential to make some cash. Anyway, I was just offered $85/hour at this new position (thats 170k a year). Current gig is $65/hour (130k) which is less than I was making before but my contract at Amazon (that was 80/hr) was short-lived unfortunately.

What do I want to do...take the one for more $ but am simply hoping it lasts at least 1-2 years instead of some bs 6 month contract. Its a 6 monther with the potential to go 1-2 years. So hopefully I kick ass and it gets extended. If not, Ill make great money, but its yet another shitty short term contract on my resume.

So, my plan...is to take job opp A assuming the paperwork comes in tomorrow, and then tell my current company that a better offer came in and to hopefully leave the door open to return someday if stars align etc.

Is the $170k job offer with a solid company? Is it a contract based position? I was unclear if it is a 6 month gig or just a straight at will gig.

Honestly you need to run the numbers - Assuming the money is the key driver, is $40k before taxes really going to move the needle? I would work out your net salary and see how much more that extra $40k would bring you per check.

Is it a “good culture” co? Will it be fully remote as well? That should factor into your decision as well. I was recently offered a job paying me nearly double my salary plus bonus and I turned it down because it would require 75% travel to the west coast. I’m glad I did but that money looked super tasty. The guy they hired after me got fired within a month - So, clearly I missed a bullet.

Either way you’re in the driver seat and will kill it :)
