You forgot, "fuck the law."

Just before entering the Capitol Rotunda for the swearing-in of Donald J. Trump, outgoing President Joe Biden issued a few more pardons - including to a number of his family members: James B. Biden, Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John T. Owens, and Francis W. Biden.

Biden issued a statement announcing the pardons:

My family has been subjected to unrelenting attacks and threats, motivated solely by a desire to hurt me—the worst kind of partisan politics. Unfortunately, I have no reason to believe these attacks will end.
I believe in the rule of law, and I am optimistic that the strength of our legal institutions will ultimately prevail over politics. But baseless and politically motivated investigations wreak havoc on the lives, safety, and financial security of targeted individuals and their families. Even when individuals have done nothing wrong and will ultimately be exonerated, the mere fact of being investigated or prosecuted can irreparably damage their reputations and finances.
That is why I am exercising my power under the Constitution to pardon James B. Biden, Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John T. Owens, and Francis W. Biden. The issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken as an acknowledgment that they engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense.
The pardon covers "any nonviolent offense against the United States which they might have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014, through the date of this pardon."

I don't know much about politics but I do remember what the recruiter said when I joined the military in the middle of the Vietnam era: Expect the worst and just hope it isn't that bad!

LOL. So, confirming he was as corrupt as fuck and his family was in there with him.

President-elect Joe Biden says he's concerned about reports that President Trump is considering a host of preemptive pardons for his adult children and lawyer Rudy Giuliani, as well as the possibility of one for himself https://cnn.it/36Ebu63

Should we refer to Joe Biden as the "GODFATHER or the "DON" of the Biden crime family?

Trump was impeached for bringing up Biden family criminal corruption

Today, Biden pardoned his family for criminal corruption

One side was right on this, the other was wrong.

Now a matter of public record.

I hate that Biden felt he needed to issue pre-emptive pardons for Fauci et al... they committed no crimes so should never need to be pardoned. Having said that, we all know trump in his thirst for vengeance will be going after these same people with every lie, trick, and pocketed judge at his disposal and so these people need the protections afforded them by these pardons. So I am torn between principles and reality... and that sounds weak; if it were almost anyone other than trump gunning for these people guilty only of trying to do their jobs then principles would win hands down. Is it an abuse of democracy? Maybe, but one that will pale in comparison to what trump will be attempting at every turn.

👍

Also:

Every one of those individuals OFFERED pardons (they don’t have to accept) were individuals DonOld PROMISED to subject to ACTUAL political persecution / prosecution which would / could have bankrupted them.

President Biden did the right thing; full stop.

No handwringing or pearl clutching over President Biden’s decision / action on pardons from this quarter.

Mango Mussolini was sorely vexed yesterday that he can no longer exact his turrible vengeance on a four star General who publicly (and correctly) chided him as a "fascist".

So the Tantrum Toddler did the next best thing:
There is a long hallway in the Pentagon that has formal portraits of all Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Trump had General Milley's portrait removed from the wall, leaving a blank space.
This was a "first day in office priority".
The absolute height of pettiness.

One day I hope to shake General Milley's hand.
