Wussy Trump moves his Inauguration inside

Wat Tyler can stand outside in the 8 degree (F) cold with just a flannel shirt on.
Wat a pity most other red hat miscreants cannot tolerate a little nip in the air.

Pity it will be inside. I was hoping he would better the effort of the 9th President, William Henry Harrison.

The high on Monday is forecast to be around 25, low 9. Snow on the ground from Sunday. Line starts at 6 am, things don’t get started till 9:30 am. No thanks.

Someone made a comment the other day about that Trump supporters have the same relationship with Trump that they have with the bands they grew up with. Back in the old days, it was new 'n fresh 'n exciting to see this new thing....

Then you get older, and you're very comfortable with the band/Trump doing the "greatest hits" thing over and over....you support them out of habit and try and ignore the fact that they are both the band and Trump are far past their prime, their best days are behind them, and they're going through the motions. We've reached that point....both the band and Trump are only in it for the money. It's performative at this point.

Hell, are there any original members left in Skynyrd?

So much for that "big crowd size". :ROFLMAO:
Well, he could always hold it at the Cap Center. That way a small minority of his thousands upon thousands fan base could witness his inauguration while the other thousands upon thousands tailgate…oh, wait…

So, he's now less MAGA idol...and more Billy Idol?

By way of historical comparison:
  • 2025 Trump 22°F (estimated) - INSIDE
  • 2009 Obama 28°F - OUTSIDE
  • 1977 Carter 28°F - OUTSIDE
  • 1961 Kennedy 22°F - OUTSIDE
In fairness to the elderly felon, though, the expected "average age" of attendees is expected to be about 70 years old or possibly higher, and it's not good for people of that age to be standing in the cold for extended periods.

Thoughts 'n prayers to the team tasked with setting up all the scaffolding and pageantry for next week over the past three days....they even did a full scale "dress rehearsal" to test the optics yesterday (flags were still at half-staff, however).

All for naught.

I don’t think the analogy fits. Presidential inaugurations are very different than concerts. What they do have in common however is that major bands and presidential inaugurations draw thousands of people. In both cases, precautions in the interest of public safety are important. Trump made the right call on this.
