More subdued in the sex scenes. OneHitWanda's "On the Simplicity of Words," or MelissaBaby's Christmas themed story from last year, "If Only In My Dreams" as examples. Outstanding examples.

For me it depends on the mood. Some times I want 40k words of drawn out romance, some times I prefer 5k words just going absolute ham on a single scene

Oh, I get that. Hell, I write both, some sex light (or free) romance, some that fit my old tag: Detail Focused.

Edit: I need to finish a couple of stories, but I keep putting them off. One very sex-focused one is all done, except I am still working on the motorcycle chase...

I got writers block back in february and it still hasn't loosened up. I got a few poems out of me this year that I'm really happy with (an honest to god rule-abiding Sonnet just last month!) but the erotica just refuses to be put into words >_<

My output on Lit went down when my input in The Playground went up. Maybe whatever needs I fulfil in erotica I fulfil here instead? And romance as well? Or I am just a hack. I can go either way...

Even at our most vitriolic, my ex and I were always good at taking pains to fill the stockings -- hers, mine, and the Kid's -- with forethought and care. It was something we held important. Still do -- I will sneak over on Christmas Eve to fill my daughter's and ex's stockings, adding to what my ex has already done. Some things take precedence over something as insignificant as a divorce.
