There was supposed to be a presidential election in March. It was canceled. Now, apparently, this is entirely legal and constitutional: Ukraine has been under martial law since this war with Russia started -- not in itself an unreasonable measure -- and Ukrainian law does not allow elections while martial law is in effect.
All the same, looking in from the outside, it makes the regime's legitimacy seem a little . . . iffy. Kinda banana-republic.
