Why does one part of my series have so many more reads than any of the other parts?

So I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but here goes: I just logged into my account for the first time in a while and found myself with an odd little puzzle on my hands. One of my stories in a series I've published -- Emilia's Exorcism Pt. 04 -- has a total of 72399 views. Pretty decent, right?

But here's the thing -- none of the other parts of that series have anywhere close to those numbers. Part 1 has 14481 views. Parts 2 and 3 above 11k views. And none of the remaining chapters after Part 4 even break 8.5k. You'd figure that the first chapter would have the most views, since that's the start of the story, right? Then dropping off as people lose interest. And the favorites don't follow the pattern set by the views at all. Only 1 person has favorited Part 4, compared to 12 who favorites Part 1.

So what is going on here? Why has Part 4 specifically received such a disproportionate amount of views? Is it some kind of analytics bug, or does the recommendation engine really like it for some reason? Going by Google dorking, there doesn't seem to be anyone linking to that particular part out there. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

That's very odd. How many Votes per View for each chapter? That's a better indicator than Favourites.

Might be a data glitch - for one chapter to have seven times the number of Views compared to the chapters around it is most unusual.

When was it published? In the middle of a holiday, maybe?

Part 4 was published on 02/21/2019. I'm fairly certain it didn't have these sort of numbers to start with, though. This must've happened at some point in the last year.

Maybe it's simplest if I just post the full stats for the entire series. Here's the numbers for each part as they stand right now:

Part 1, published 02/14/2019:
Views 14.4k
Favorites 12
Votes 4.29 / 55

Part 2, published 02/16/2019:
Views 11.6k
Favorites 2
Votes 4.16 / 32

Part 3, published 02/19/2019:
Views 11.2k
Favorites 1
Votes 4.36 / 25

Part 4, published 02/21/2019:
Views 72.4k
Favorites 2
Votes 4.19 / 26

Part 5, published 02/22/2019:
Views 8.3k
Favorites 2
Votes 4.47 / 17

Part 6, published 02/23/2019:
Views 6k
Favorites 1
Votes 4.6 / 10

Part 7, published 02/24/2019:
Views 5.3k
Favorites 2
Votes 4.54 / 13

Part 8, published 02/25/2019:
Views 5.3k
Favorites 2
Votes 4.36 / 11

Is there something very taboo in the high-views chapter?

I don't think so? There's an impromptu threesome in a strip club, I suppose, but I tend to suspect that my stuff is pretty tame by Literotica standards. (No incest, no vore, etc.) You're welcome to take a look and see for yourself, of course.

Something really looks suspect, for the ratio of votes to views to be so far off for that one chapter.

All your other stories in that series have between 2 and 3 votes per 1000 views.

That story has 0.3 votes per 1000 views.

Maybe there's a crawler hitting that story over and over for some reason. Or maybe it's one person who has had it open in a browser tab for 4 years and it reloads every single time they wake up their computer. Or maybe someone published a hyperlink to it from somewhere else on the web.

I did check for that via Google. As far as I can tell, no one seems to have linked directly to that part of the story, unless it's on a site that search engines don't index. All in all, the crawler hypothesis seems the most likely to me. I just have no idea why a bot would be specifically drawn to that specific chapter and none of the others.
