I'm a modernist myself. I generally start at Sibelius and move forward from there, through Debussy, Stravinsky, Schoenberg, Webern, Bartok etc. Pretty much up to the contemporary. Wouldn't say I sit in front of the fire listening to it. I listen to it the same way I listen to other music I'm into

I'm enjoying live transmissions of Opera and Ballet at our local multi-screen movie theater. They have only been popular in the last few years but now I go more than a dozen times a year.

They also do Shakespeare from The Globe, plays from the National Theatre, and other Art events.

The last music one - last week - was the ballet Giselle by the Royal Ballet Company from Covent Garden. So far this year 2014 I have been to the movies 5 times and not seen a single Hollywood shoot-em-up.
