I know this idea is half baked, but perhaps someone can do something with it...

A young man with two lesbian moms, one of whom provided the egg, on his 18th birthday, asks for the gift of knowing which is his 'real' mom, and to fuck the other one, since it would not biologically be incest...

I have am idea for a twist, but ...

have at it

So first, the moms can’t be lesbians. Son’s request is already a huge ask both in and out of plot, if he goes up to them and asks for sex AND does so knowing they’re gay it makes him come off as a huge piece of shit to the point where, as a reader I’m wanting the ending to be them disowning him.

So they’re in a same sex marriage/relationship but they’re bi, pan or generally queer. They’ve each had male lovers in the past and maybe even take a guy to bed once in awhile to share.

Maybe that’s the catalyst: he sees them with a guy not much older than him and those taboo feelings he has buried start to emerge. Maybe his moms prefer younger guys and heck, maybe they even write erotica with young men and even sons/step-sons.

Second: I think son should be aged up a bit. Like have him coming back from his first year of college or maybe it’s his 21st birthday, so drinks are already on the table and moms might be more willing to spill the beans. This would let son have some experience with sex or possibly have let him have time to have fantasies about his moms. Like at home his internet was monitored, at college he goes on a porn binge finds out about taboo fantasies and possibly even discovers moms’ lewd history, turning those occasional wet dreams that involved them into a longing that carries over to when he’s awake.

If you want him to be 18 at the start, maybe have him ask that birthday (but just for the identity of who donated the egg…he keeps his more carnal wish to himself), they push it off, saying they’ll tell him when he’s older and that it shouldn’t matter.

Now, as for ideas on where to go.

1. Son comes clean at his 21st birthday. Moms have been teasing him about his love life and they dressed up, pretending to be his dates. He asks them and they say:

“That was such a loooong time ago…and does it really matter?”

His other mom presses up against him: “we both raised you, so we’re your moms.”

Son protests and tries to defend himself and both women out their hands on his thighs.

“So if you know we’re your moms and you still want to fuck one of us…then why should it matter it we’re blood related or not? Why would a handsome man like you ever want to split up a perfect set?”

So after a night of debauchery, the moms finally come clean, but only after son demonstrates it doesn’t matter to him either. This way moms are just as much into the idea.

2. Son finds an account moms use to post erotica or role play and strikes up a relationship with them online, trying to get them to come clean while also having them role play the sex he wants to have with them. Eventually they start sharing pics and one or all three of them figure it out

Since the son is fair skinned and blonde, he figures his blonde mother is his biological mother, and his swarthy, dark haired mother is unrelated. So he asks to have sex with her, and she agrees (she still likes an occasional dick between her legs). Then later, for unrelated reasons (ancestry dot com?), a DNA test shows that they were wrong about which was the biological mother! All parties are horrified. But only for a little while.......

Please no. It always sends me off. I mean, mentioning writing/reading erotica in erotica. It takes some erotism and taboo away from me.
I share your preference but have always wondered how much in the minority/majority I'm in with this.

Maybe my sensors are calibrated too high but 4th wall breaking is so easily done in erotica.

Certainly the full bore writing of erotica within an erotic story would do it but even just being a significant writer or it a character's hobby can be a step too far unless handled with serious care.

The most off putting are where the author is clearly using the erotica to bridge/shortcut to gain favor with the audience so it ends up going in the exact opposite direction.

Those are some of my fastest click outs.
