U.S. economy added 353,000 jobs in January, much better than expected

American jobs expanded by 353,000 for the month, much better than the estimate for 185,000
The unemployment rate was 3.7%, against the estimate for 3.8%.
Wage growth: average hourly earnings increased 0.6%, double the monthly estimate.
On a year-over-year basis, wages jumped 4.5%, well above the 4.1% forecast.

"but...but.....TEH PREVIOUS MONTHS' REVISIONS!"
December 2023 jobs revised UPWARD by 117,000 to 333,000 jobs
November 2023 jobs revised UPWARD by 9,000 to 182,000 jobs

"but..but...THEY'RE ALL GUMMINT JOBS!"
Professional and Business Services UP 74,000
Healthcare UP 70,000
Retail UP 45,000
Deep State/Government 36,000
Tranny Enablers/Social Workers 30,000
Manufacturing 23,000

How good was the jobs report?
It was so good that failed US President Donald J Trump claimed the market was responding positively because it expected him to be elected in November.

Now tell us about the cost of housing and why wages aren't rising as fast as prices. Hint, Biden.

However .....

The Black unemployment rate is consistently twice that of white workers. Here's why

Since the U.S. first collected such data, in 1972, the Black unemployment rate has consistently stood at levels twice as high as the unemployment rate among white people. The relationship has undergone occasional shifts up or down but quickly returned to a level of two to one.

From Janet Yellen’s comments on January 25th:

Household median wealth increased by 37 percent between 2019 and 2022. This is the largest three-year increase on record. Real wages have risen from their pre-pandemic levels—especially quickly for middle-income households. And because wages have risen more than prices, middle-class Americans now have more purchasing power. New Treasury analysis shows that a worker earning the median wage can today buy the same goods and services as in 2019, with nearly $1,400 left over to save or spend. And families are now putting their extra income and their accumulated pandemic-era savings back into the economy.

Put simply, it’s been the fairest recovery on record. We see this in gains not only for middle-class Americans but also across demographic groups, such as the rapid decline in unemployment rates for Black and Hispanic Americans. There are gains across the country, too. Before the pandemic, the unemployment rate was nearly 20 percent higher in rural than in metropolitan areas. That large gap has been eliminated.

The US economy is strong, which is something to celebrate for all Americans.

How many of these 'new jobs' are filled by people already working who need a second income?

What leftist will never admit is that the economy in 2020 was in the process of roaring back from a covid disaster.. The economy is slowly getting better in spite of Biden not because of Biden. Just imagine where we'd be if Biden just sat back and let things happen on it's own. The left can't point to one policy that helped the economy. The only bill they constantly refer to is the chip's act. 23 % inflation over 3 years, high food prices, high gas prices and putting a wet blanket on energy independence. The propaganda spewed from some on lit is that oil production is at an all time high, what they don't admit is that increase is due to private land production not federal leases. Now Biden want's to cut LNG production. Biden is a fool *full stop*!

Just imagine how much lower inflation would have been if Trump‘s massive deficit spending hadn’t added $7 trillion to the national debt.
Just imagine if state Democrats didn't shut down the economies during covid. Trump initiated stimulus spending to avoid a great depression. Not one democrat complained over Trump's spending. Congressional democrats went right along with Trump's deficit spending, they actually authorized it! Both parties welcomed ridiculous over spending.

The overspending continued during Biden's admin where spending should have returned to normal. It's estimated that 450 billion in fraud between both admins.

It was not "roaring back" in 2020.

The infrastructure bill, the Covid assistance act, the chips act and the inflation act all contributed to the economy we have today, which is stronger than any other.

Go to any financial blog and they will explain to you the the BS the Government puts out every month. You can not have job gains when tens of thousands are being let go every month. You can not have falling gas consumption if everyone is going to work every day. No one is buying anything except on what credit is left to use. The Government puts up bogus numbers for the report and then downward revise the last numbers when you look at the next, new current numbers. This is done by both parties. This is why you don't see Sen. McConnell standing in front of a mic trying to form the words, "They are lying to you." It's all smoke and mirrors and new math. Hold on to your ass because you ain't seen nothin' yet no matter who is President. Leadership is not going to cut it this time.

Hiring does not get the same news coverage as layoffs. Just because you haven't see it in the news, doesn't make it so. I see help wanted signs every where I go. I'm seeing new faces in most stores and businesses and new places opening.

Gas consumption is down as people convert to different vehicles, share rides, work from home, or work closer to home.
